My h is completely remorseful and is doing everything he can to try and repair himself and us. So instead of pushing each other away, we are closer than ever. He has been forced to look at himself and his feelings. We talk every night, have started having fun together again, work out together, and all of this closeness makes us both crave each other sexually. Our sex is now amazing and I feel so connected when we are together.
If you want to stay with him I would suggest setting boundaries and being very open about your feelings. Counseling helps some so maybe try that. But if your goal is to rebuild, putting a bigger gap in your marriage probably won't help. Make your goal to have a better and stronger marriage than before.
He can love you and his life with you and he could have had selfish , weak moments . He can have issues you guys can work through. I'm only a few months from discovery but things have gotten MUCH better with my husbands willingness to work on it.
