My girl friend of 5 years has had this on and off email and texting affair with her ex, who is married and has his own family now.
I happened to see a text a few months ago from his wife asking my gf to stop contacting him. So i confronted my gf about it. This would be the 3rd time i have confronted her about it asking her to stop talking to him. I am not confident that it has actually ended because she deletes all her texts before i can look at her phone, and she still hides her emails.
I cannot just walk away and not look back, because we do have a son together who is 3 years old.
We have been in couples counseling to deal with some issues since i found out. But any time i bring up this, and try to voice my concerns, and feelings, she tells me it was my fault she did it and i just deal with it. She will not talk to me about it with the exception of insisting that i deal with it.
I would have thought that in our late 20's and early 30's we would be over this type of stuff, and be able to communicate together.
I know i need to be able to trust her, and i have done what i can to change myself so that hopefully she does not feel the need to go and do it again.
But i need to be able to talk to her about it and i do not know how to do that with out being told to deal with it.

You don't have to stay with someone who cheats on you, just to be a good father.
It is better for your son to have a happy father in a healthy relationship, than to have an unhappy father living with a cheater.
I hate to see you stuck with this behavior from her, but she's gotten away with it before, and will continue to as long as you let her.
