I just joined this group and am having a very rough day! My husband and I have been ttc for over 2 years now. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis earlier this year. Since I never had as much pain as most women I know with endo, this diagnosis came as a surprise. The Dr. said the endo was very bad and she didn't want me to try for longer than a year because the endo is just going to come back. So, I only have 4 or 5 months left to try per the Doctor. For some personal reasons we've ruled out IVF as an option for us. I've tried accupuncture along with herbs and diet, and that hasn't helped with the infertility. The past two months the Dr. had me on letrazole and we did timed intercourse, but I discovered today that this month hasn't been successful either. I really don't know what to do! Our insurance is horrible, so each month is completely out of pocket so this is causing financial strain also. Today I feel like just giving up because I'm so sick of feeling depressed every month when I don't get pregnant. But if I give up now am I going to look back and regret not trying everything I could? Has anybody been thru this and decided to stop trying? When do you know it's the time to just give up? While I've always had other aspirations in life also, I ALWAYS wanted a family. There was never a time where my future goals to include a husband and children, so this is really hard.

Hello Im new to the group also.
Ill just pass on information Ive learn while on this journey. First you'll need to see a RE they specialize in infertility they'll be able to give you the exact issue and will give you solutions. i hope this can help. I know exactly what you're facing right now. Its very hard to deal with and express to family and friends that never understand what you're facing. Stay strong and you'll get that family that you want trust.

i agree with faithisstrong I have been trying 8 years one of which I am undergoing ivf at the moment with donor eggs it is a hard journey but it will be worth it in the end we will hopefully going on to adoption if our third and final attempt doesn't work I am here if you need to talk have you done all the tests

Thanks for the responses! I do see an RE and went thru all the tests, and they didn't really find anything wrong with the tests, so they did laparoscopy in February and that's where they found the endometriosis. It was pretty frustrating because I thought I'd have more answers after that surgery, as to whether I'd be able to conceive. But my case of endo seems a little different. I didn't have endo on my ovaries or in my tubes. I had more adhesions that pulled my uterus backward and pinned my tubes and ovaries behind them. They freed everything up the surgery, but basically they don't know how long my tubes have been in that weird position and how much damage that would have been done to the tubes. The tubes are clear, but just might not be working properly. The Dr game me a few options: IVF, IUI, or fertility drugs with timed intercourse. We've ruled out using IVF for many reasons. Right now we've tried drugs with timed intercourse, and may try and IUI next month. Honestly, I don't know how you could try for 8 years. You must be one strong chick!

I am not sure if I am much help, but i do know of a couple who also had issues and a very hard time. She was in her twenties and discovered she had endometriosis. She also wanted very badly to have kids. They tried all sorts of things, but when all was said and done, they found fertility experts who had a set fee. If they felt you did have an opportunity from their help.....they gave three attempts. If after that you were still unable to conceive they did return your money.

This was probably 15 years ago, but they were fortunate. She would be pregnant twice and now has a son and daughter (after she was told she would never have any)

Hi, I had D&C/lap done this past February too. Like you, I found out I had endo but didn't have any pain with it. I had no clue. Because of endo my RE ran a HSG to make sure the tubes are flowing well. I also started taking CoQ10 to improve the quality of my eggs. This is a hard journey but it will be worth it in the end.
