Well, like some of you know I went to my RE this week to get the ok for my next IVF cycle after my mc.
On us she saw something that was about 2 inches wide and couldn't really tell what it is without a hysteroscopy. She thinks it could be placental retention, a clot, a fibroid (no history) or a molar preg. (pathology at D&E was ok, so she said less likely).
I had a mc that ended in a D&E in July. At that point, nothing was left on us. This time, I had no trouble seing it. My beta was slow to drop but it finally got to zero in September and she put in a IUD at D&E so I couldn't be pregnant again. I think AF showed but now I've been bleeding/spotting for almost 3 weeks.
Has this happend to any of you ? What was it ? How did things turnout ?
I'm real scared and had major hemorage (40% blood loss) a month post labor with my son. I keep thinking I'll start again and will end up in the emergency room. The 11th can't get here fast enough. I want whatever it is taken out !

The hemorrhage during the surgery was controlled by putting in a balloon to try to stop the bleeding by direct pressure. It was supposed to stay in for at least 24 hours. My recovery room nurse got confused and removed it while I was still groggy. I am very nervous because if I bleed again they are taking me to interventional radiology to embolize my uterus, basically giving it an intentional stroke or clot to make it stop. It's frustrating if that happens because it was a medical error that lead to the more conservative option being removed prematurely. But I have been on the other side of errors. I know things happen. So far so good, moderate bleeding. But if I bleed a lot I am going to one furious about the embolization.
The big picture is while this won't hold up ivf/embryo banking it will definitely hold up trying to conceive another 2-3 months. I am going to finish ocps 10/12, then hopefully menstruate and start stims.
Roxy, I hope my experience doesn't scare you. I am in the hospital and I lost another 700 ccs of blood but no transfusion. Just an excuse to eat steak. I have heard of others with retained placenta being easy to pluck out without this complication. And from what I've read, we probably miss as lot of retained placenta that comes out on its own because no one really goes looking and when there do 1/3 have it, more after a second trimester loss like mine. My placenta grew back three times and so something unusual is wrong with it. I'm sure your experience will be easier. Did this send?
