Weird feelings!!!

Hi Ladies so I am working on myself and taking time off after a failed IVF. I have gone through all the being jealous of other ppl that have children etc that was my face last yr. Well I have a lot of nieces and nephews and love them to pieces. I am always the one telling hubby aaw look at that baby I have always been that way since I was very young. So I noticed my husband telling me at dinner look at that baby and I told him I am not in that kind of mood at the moment...... well I was shocked after I said that because I have to stress how in love I am with children of all ages. Today at work my co-worker was talking about her cousin who has a baby I am like here we go again. It's weird how things and time changes us in this process. I would of never imagined that I would feel this way. I don't feel bad about it and I am not being mean or have bad feelings but I guess I have a protective shield up you can say. I am still figuring this out myself. Just thought I would share with you guys. On a happy note I am looking forward to thanksgiving and being able to spend time with the kids. My husband and I are the cool aunt and uncle and are very close to all the kids they even have their own room at our place. I guess I just don't care to hear about everyone else's stories. Sounds harsh but this is how I feel at the moment.

What you are feeling is perfectly normal, especially after a failed IVF. I'm so sorry for that, by the way.

I completely get where you're coming from - I have always loved babies and kids, and they always brought me joy. But IF has changed me, and they often make me feel sad now. I hate that I feel that way, but I've become more bitter as time goes on. I also love spending time with my nephews, and I try to shut the sadness off, but I seem to carry it with me everywhere. So I know what you mean. It's hard to hear about other people's kids when you have been struggling to have one of your own for so long.

I totally hear you. IF has a sneaky way of affecting every aspect of our lives. But I think you have a great attitude. Enjoy being the best aunt ever at thanksgiving :)

Thank you Ladies for hearing me out. I have a really close bond with my brothers first child he is 10 years old now but since he was 2 months old he has been with me almost every weekend. His mom and I have a good relationship and she lets me have him for some holidays :) He wrote me a card last year letting me know how much he loved me and that I was like his second mom so of course I could not stop crying then he began to cry and then we hugged for a while. I am thankful for all these little angels that God has allowed to be a part of my life. I know that this is just a glimpse of what is like to love your own child. My sister in-laws have been very understanding and sweet to me in the sense that every time they got pregnant they made sure to tell me in private just in case I would feel affected by it or got crazy ha ha. Thank you Ladies for always being here I could never be more thankful for you all!!! :) enjoy your holidays Let's make the best of it and let's be Thankful for the PEOPLE and THINGS that we DO have in our lives. :)
