So, I was, of course, thinking about how this cycle has lasted longer than my last two IUI cycles and that I had weird pressure in my lower abdominal area but I still had every intent on waiting until Sunday.
Yesterday, I was at my mom's and I was comenting on the strage pressure in that region and WHAM! I was lambasted with a pain so intense, I was unable to stand straight! It was right in the middle of my lower abs, right around where my scar is from having a fibroid removed in May. It put me on the floor so I called the RE office and the on call nurse practicioner told me that it was probably too soon to be concerned about ectopic pregnancy but it could be a UTI so I should go to Urgent Care. They sent me to ER when I told them about the IUI and the follicle stims. So, they do a blood test and I am positive! Beta is 199. It was only 16 dpIUI so I am excited...BUT... this hospital is new and understaffed so they send me to another one to get ultrasounds to make sure it isn't an ectopic. My pain has leveled out and I can hardly feel anything but I want to know.
Poked, prodded, and photographed, unlike at the RE office, the tech won't tell me anything so I wait for the doctor to read the results. I call the nurse to take the dang cathiter out and she says "We're leaving it in because we are not sure what we're going to do". So then nurse-no-clue says "The ultrasound can not rule out the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy so we are checking with an OB/GYN before taking that out". Then in the room next to me, I hear babies crying and I am hysterical.
Doctor comes in. He says he spoke with the same nurse practicioner I did earlier yesterday. She said at this stage, nothing is out of the ordinary, everything could be fine and to call Monday." So.... what the??
When am I allowed to believe enough to get excited? One doc thinks maybe a cyst burst, the doctor's asst at the RE clinic (who I am blessed to have her cell) thinks my uterus was stretching and the scar from my surgery hurt... so now I am consulting the experts!
What do you think? Am I just a little bit pregnant? Because I thought that was impossible but that is how the doctor sounded. Like it was too soon to be viable.

Mom sys don't tell anyone just in case, DH is confident everything will be fine and I know I can tell you guys anything!

OMG!! I think I am confused! I think you got a BFP though!! Yeah for you!! I hope whatever happened painwise is gone and you can go on to enjoy a happy healthy 9 months!! Congratulations!!

Congrats! Despite your visit to the hospital your beta number for only 16pdiui is great! It should double or triple by the time your original test was scheduled. Once you have those numbers confirmed and take a few more betas along w/an u/s to confirm that the sac is located where is should be then i would get totally excited. Until then, i'd just be "causiously excited!" again, congrats!

I think you have a BFP. Did you try a HPT? If your number really are that high it should come up positive. The pain could be from your uterus growing or you ligaments being pushed on or moved. I had cramping and a sharp pain once during the first week I found out I was pregnant. Good luck and I'll pray for you!!!

Your numbers for only 16dpIUI seem really high so it sounds like you are pregnant. I am praying everything is okay and it was just early pregnancy pains. You will be in my prayers.

Wow, what a way to get a BFP. Not probably anyones first choice but I agree...I would be cautiously optimistic. I hope that all of you tests come out great and you get your happy healthy baby.

Wow - that's quite a story! I think with all the tests they've done, you will be fine. I had a fibroid removed in May too, and every month I feel a strange sort of "stretching" at one point or another. So I could definitely believe the RE asst's explanation about the scar stretching. If I were you , I would be pretty darn excited right about now! Please keep us posted and I will be praying for you!

I'm very excited for you and hope it is good news. Think positive. Good thoughts. If your that early it could be anything. I got my BFP and have had strange pains on and off. They haven't lasted long. But it can be different tendens stretching and stuff. Remember good thoughts.

I hope that you are alot bit preggers! I have no idea why you had to go through all of that pain, but I am glad that you are ok and I hope that you get some answers on Monday! Keep us posted!
