Wow....

I would never ever vote for Romney, based on my relationship. However, I respect everyone's choice to vote however they want. I have repeatedly said that the ladies here should definitely know where Romney/Ryan stand on this issue. If they are voted into office, the women here should know that their chances of becoming parents are nearly non-existent. Make sure you do your homework ladies :)

While I don't think this is the forum for political debates/tirades etc I think that article is very informative and thank you so much for sharing.

(I don't think ti was a debate or tirade by the way)

However, a message for those who are on their political soap boxes (and not just on this site- facebookers ugh! :) ). Please pay attention to who you vote for in your own STATE.

The president can only do so much, it also takes Congress to make things happen (which is a fact I think a lot of people forget). Too often I hear about folks focusing on just the president.

Let's not forget those narrow minded congressmen and women too. Not to quote school house rocks but it takes more than one vote for these things to happen so it's crucial that we pay attention to our votes across the board.

This goes for both parties. I'm just sayin, if you are liberal it won't help you if Obama is faced with a congress that bucks him. And vice versa if you vote Romney same thing goes.

A lot of facts are thrown around on TV and such, it's nice to see it in plain print, t hanks again Courage2010 for sharing the wealth!! xoxo

I just want to point out something...He doesn't say he is against IVF, he says he believes life starts at conception. This means he would be against discarding embryos, but not making them. I also believe life starts at conception, but i still did IVF. I just plan to use all of the embryos we have.

The concern I have with Romney/Ryan is that if they are elected, there are one or two supreme court justice openings coming within the next 4 years and our president would be appointing those people. Romney has gone back and forth about getting rid of Roe v. Wade with conservative justices, which would shift the entire supreme court to conservative. It makes me nervous that reproductive medicine may be impacted...

JA0811- He does state that he thinks life begins at conception, but making this a government law would limit the medical intervention of our REs. Discarding embryos isn't necessarily the only issue, think about those embryos that didn't divide properly and your RE didn't consider them for transfer or cryopreservation. They would legally be human beings and our REs would be committing murder????

Just think, one more week and all of this political stuff will be done :)

I agree with Hope237. Also, I would just like to point out that no President is going to focus on this issue right now. Both Obama and Romeny will be focused on jobs and the economy and fertility laws aren't even going to come up. And even if it did come up, there would be far too much resistance from the medical community that this issue would be stomped on before it even reached congress.
My point here is vote for the person you think is going to get our country back up and running, not on a non-existent ruling that someone wrote an article about.

I think it is short sighted to say that the elections will not impact IVF/fertility medication. At a minimum, 15 states have personhood bills on the table for this election.
