Has anyone experienced UTI symptoms after taking Ovidrel or after an IUI?

I used follistim and ovidrel and I don't think I had an infection, but it was hard to pee and I had to force myself to go every couple of hours. I over stimulated and I think that was why. It went away in about 10 days to 2 weeks. I was really bloated. I never got to do the IUI because I over stimulated.

2 out of 3 cycles I had what I thought was a UTI starting about 24 hours after Ovidrel. My RE/nurse swore there was no relationship. I never need an Rx for it, just lots of water and cranberry juice. I also noticed a certain "position" was more painful and avoided it in cycle 3. I didn't get a UTI that month.

I wonder if we are just more sensitive to rough sex :| after the trigger. Just a thought.

I had the same thing after my first IUI. I was really bloated and they had trouble getting the cath in so I was really sore anyway. The next two cycles I just made sure I drank a lot of water. I think just everything is sore and you feel kinda beaten up. Hang in there!

Thanks for the info. It was my first iui and I really wasn t sure what to expect. I am prone to uti s which is the last thing I need right now. Keeping my fingers crossed:)

I used Follistim and HCG trigger shot before IUI. This was my first IUI, and I have been experiencing some cramping during the day, and a stronger ones in the middle of the night. I am using progesterone suppositories,so I don't know if all this is part of the transition of my uterus preparing for implantation.
11 days left of my 2ww. Staying Hopeful!

I did the follistim and ovidrel and had my first iui yesterday. I find out friday about progesterone suppository. Keeping my fingers crossed as we go through this wait!

I had UTIs after 2 of my IUIs with injectables. I didn't have that problem with Clomid, but the injectables definitely increase abdominal swelling around the bladder. I thought I was just feeling more pressure, but the swelling can more easily trap bacteria causing a bladder infection.

I can only speak for the IUI. I thought I had a UTI and it was just my body after the IUI. It went away but it took about 5 days.
