Hello everyone! My retrieval was on Thursday, and they got 15 eggs. Only 4 fertilized, which made me a little nervous. The update from yesterday was that there are two 8 cell grade 3, and one 7 cell grade 3. Do embies at that cell/grade level usually make it the last day and a half to transfer? My transfer is scheduled tomorrow morning, and I am really hoping that they all make it. Is there a chance that they will grow or improve in grade? What are some of your experiences???

I'm sorry, I don't have any answers for you. We had 15 fertilize and 7 made it to the day 6 blastocyst stage. I was never told the "grade" of them before that.

We had 13 retreived, 7 fertilized but only 3 survived transfer and we still got a BFP on our first cycle.

Are you dealing with MF or IF issues with you? Ours were just MF so the RE said our chances of it taking the first time was pretty good since I was ok.

Endometriosis seems to be the problem with me. DH had a vasecomy many years before we met, so they had to do a sperm aspiration on him, that is why we are doing IVF. I think he probably got the worst end of the deal last week. He's a real tropper though - it's got to be true love for a man to have that type of procedure! ha!

eight cell and seven cell is great-they could have implanted them at that point- I know of healthy babies from 3 day 4 cell embyros. Not sure what your clinic rating system is but 3 is generally good-its all so subjective- I drove myself crazy with this! What i did was pray for each one while they were in the lab-prayed and prayed and visualized each one multiplying as it needs too. You sound like you are in good shape but if you need to, call your clinic and ask to speak to the embryologist for more specifics -do not speak to the lab tech- EVER they are always cautious- they are like nurses, they have to be-my hubby is a doc and refuses to even speak to the techs -says they never want to get in trouble so they err on the side of caution. But remember, you have the right to ask for more specific details if you need to-they work for you!
