Have you had your ovulation monitored by your doctor yet? I'm assuming if you're on Clomid you have, but just checking. Do you get Clomid from an RE or your regular Ob/Gyn? If you aren't seeing an RE yet, I'd also recommend that, too. Otherwise, you can always move toward more aggressive options, like IUI. I know everyone says, "it'll happen if you relax" - but I think we all know how impossible that is when you're the one living through it! So my only suggestion would be to take control of as much as you possibly can, which will hopefully help you to focus your energy on something productive during all the waiting and downtime. See if you can be monitored more closely, ultrasounds to confirm ovulation, maybe get a second opinion, discuss IUI (or other options) with your doctor. Just suggestions, obviously, do what feels right for you, your body, and your family.

Thank you for the reply. I have had ultrasounds to monitor my ovulation. At 50mg & 100mg, the Clomid didn't seem to help. At 150mg (what I am on now) my OB/GYN did a follicle scan and said the Clomid worked. I am soooo new to this, I have to admit that I don't know what an RE or IUI is. Please excuse my ignorance, but can you tell me more? Again, I appreciate any and all advice!

Hi - I'm sorry, I always hate when people use abbreviations that I don't understand! A reproductive endocrinologist (RE) is a doctor who specializes in assisted reproductive technology (ART) techniques, like intra-uterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF). I would definitely recommend making an appointment with an RE next. Your Ob/Gyn can prescribe Clomid and monitor your follicles, etc., but an RE is specifically trained to get you pregnant. They will look at all possible angles. Your next option will probably be an IUI. With an IUI, the RE will take your husband's washed sperm (they wash it ensure maximum quality) and place it directly into your uterus at the time of ovulation. The idea is that this removes some of the potential barriers to getting pregnant, and gets the sperm right where they need to be when the egg is released, thus maximizing your chances of conceiving. Usually, when people have tried Clomid for a few rounds without success, an RE will suggest a combination of Clomid + IUI. Since you have gotten pregnant before, I believe this is your next option. I know this process is super frustrating, but try to stay hopeful. You and your husband have a lot of potential options available to you still, and the fact that you have already carried a pregnancy successfully to term is promising - you just need to get over the hump of getting pregnant!
