Has anyone seen this? It's from last summer. I just found it on demand and bawled through the second half of it. I knew...I just KNEW...that blond chick was going to get pregnant on her first IVF cycle. And surprise surprise, BFP. Meanwhile the couple on their sixth try gets yet another BFN.

Anyway, my personal (inexplicably angry) feelings aside, has anyone else seen it? What do you think? At first I was like ugh, stop dramatizing the IVF process, it's not THAT big of a deal - and then I realized how detached from the whole process I've become. Blondie McBFP was whining about how big the needles were and I was like dude, shut up. I'm shocking myself with how mad I am. First of all, I need to get an effing grip on myself and second of all, I think this episode was really well done and gives people a glimpse into the anguish and obstacles of IVF. And third of all, Blondie McBFP deserves her baby and I need to chill out and stop being Jealous McTWWface.

Thats the name of the movie 'I'm desperate for a Baby"? I will have to see if I can find it. It is easy to get a bit on the detached side of things when it's something you/we have been doing for SO long. I thinking back to our first IVF and it was way higher drama with all the crazy needles back then than it is now.
I also have to bite my tongue a LOT when I see my friends complaining on FB about being so sad that their spouse is out of town for the weekend or ONE overnight trip for work or something because that is nothing in comparison to back to back 15 and 12 month deployments. I have to look at the situation through their eyes and pull back on what I really want to say because of the perspective factor.

It's a show actually. It's called True Life on MTV and while many of the episodes are entertainingly ridiculous (my personal favorite was called I Have a Summer Share), a lot of the episodes are really deep and amazing and informative. They did one on young people with OCD that made me cry because it was so well done and it made me feel like other people would understand me better.

Anyway if you have On Demand you can look for it there. That's where I found it.

And you are an amazing woman for being able to survive without your hubby for such long stretches. My husband was away for a week once and I missed him so badly I cried. I don't know how you do it but I am in awe of your strength!

Just watched it! So glad you mentioned it, my sister has been bugging me to watch it for a year now.
It felt like I was watching myself on tv. I related more to the lady who had failed cycles. I felt like the blonde hadn't had a true heartbreaking loss/cycle fail yet.
But I am glad for a half of a happy ending!
It's nice to know infertility can be portrayed on TV realistically.

I wasn't able to find it, on MTV Canada the episodes are pretty old :(

My personal favourite was "I'm Too Beautiful" .... And let me tell you, I couldn't grasp that these were the two they had chosen. Lol.

Ahh!! I forgot about that one, haha they were NOT that great looking! Summer Share will always be the best though, with Tommy Cheeseballs who just wants to find a beautiful guidette to wipe the sweat from his forehead and be his wife!

Oh, I totally forgot about that show! I will have to watch it. I am pretty sure one of the patients goes to my clinic. When I was going through my first IVF they had a thing posted in the clinic that MTV was looking for one of their patients who wanted to do a true live thing. But I did not qualify since they were looking for people 19-25... which kind of amazed me... that age range is ridiculously low... anyways... Thanks for reminding me about it.

I think you're being a little too hard on yourself. Anger is a normal emotion, and so is jealousy...it's not like you know this girl, and even if you did - it's a completely understandable reaction. I hate feeling angry, too, but it is the reality of IF sometimes....and that's just the way it is. Being hard on yourself only makes it worse for you. Be kind to yourself, be understanding.....you are stronger than you think!

Thanks for posting the link! I just watched it and I think it truly shows the pain that the IVF process can bring. Both ladies has seperate struggle but both did struggle in thier own way. I'm so happy that one got pregnant and the other was blessed to have a surrogate who would help. Atleaet they both will have thier miracle. I even sent this to DH and he said he felt like he was watching us!
