Some others on here may have more strong opinions than I with the acupuncture.

I gave it a try, didn't mind it but didn't fall in love with it. I know lots of others that love it and do it regularly.

I don't think it is ever too late. I think the major benefit of it is to reduce stress- so it's counterproductive to worry that you haven't started it early enough.

Give it a go now, if you'd like. I think when I did it it was right before I started my cycle. It is mighty expensive, though. Best of luck to you!!! :)

I looked into acupuncture for infertility. The acupuncturist recommend twice a week for up to 6 mos before it would even have an effect. That was too costly/long for me, so I opted out. However, I have contemplated trying it, and possibly going every now and then during my treatment just to help relieve some stress, as i've heard it's a great stress reliever. Go ahead and give it a try now. If you enjoy it, do it when you feel you need to relax, and that in itself will help you get through :-)

I've been doing acupuncture, although I'm not sure if its actually helping or not. It's really expensive and I'm cutting back since I got a BFN with my last FET. My acupuncturist recommends twice a week for 3 months prior to any procedure but I have only done it for the two weeks prior to my ERs and FET. I like it since I feel like it really relaxes me, and would do it more often if it wasn't so expensive, but again, not convinced that it actually helps with IF. Good luck to you!

I absolutely love acupuncture and now go about every 2 weeks. I started it during my last cycle of IVF more for stress relief than anything else. Our fertility issues are on my husbands side so I didn't really "need" acupuncture for me. My acupuncturist does specialize in fertility so he said about 3 months prior to a cycle is helpful but I went just at the start of my last IVF and had great results. My first IVF I only got 4 eggs, but this last cycle I got 9 and 8 fertilized and now I have frozen embryos. The hard part is not knowing did acupuncture help and or was it that we changed the meds a bit this time. So I will never know if acupuncture had much of an effect, but I do know one thing and that is my stress level during this last round was low and under control. He also really helped when I miscarried that round, just really helped emotionally. I find you can get out of acupuncture what you need from it and I really needed stress relief and emotional stability. I still see him because I just feel better overall seeing him and I am having an FET in the fall so I will want to see him through that as well. It's an expensive investment so you really have to think it through whether it is worth it for you. I could go on and on but don't want to overwhelm you.
