I was told over and over that my uterus was tilted WAY back. I've even had ultrasound techs tell me they've never seen one tilted as far back as mine is. Not a very encouraging thing to hear. My fertility specialist says that my best chances are in uteral fertilization. Has anyone ever done this, or are most of you IVF? I just can't imaging the pain of that. I thought the needle hurt a TON just to see if my tubes were open! I have anxieties of having yet a BIGGER needle shoved into my cervix every month for IUF treatments. Is this the only way? Did anyone have a successful pregnancy with a tilted uterus without the hoops and pain?

A girlfriend of mine has a very tilted uterus and she had problems getting progo as well. Her doctor did a procedure to pull down the uterus so it was less tilted and she got prego within 2 months, and now has 2 children very close toghter. Good luck. Oh after surgery she concieved naturally.

I was told I have a tilted uterus. I guess it is nothing too serious for me though. I am doing IVF for my second child. My first was conceived naturally and by a miracle from God. I was not advised to do anything to correct this since I am doing IVF. All my tests and procedures prior to IVF have not been painful to me at all. However I do have a high tolerance for pain.

do you mean IUI? (intrauterine insemination)

if so, the catheter for IUI is MUCH smaller, and less painful than the catheter for the HSG. (they dont use needles for those two procedures)
also, during an IUI, your cervix is already slightly open, because you are getting ready to ovulate.

Mine is extrememly tilted too. In my experience the HSG was terribly painful and the IUI was only a little painful (because of my uterus).

I have a slightly tilted uterus, but I don't think it is much of a problem. I had IUI and it hurt way less than the HSG did to check my tubes.

I was told by the ultrasound tech at RE's office that I have a tilted uterus, I was told that about a third of women have a tilted uterus, basically nothing to worry about. I also did some research and everything I read says it will not prevent you from getting pregnant.

Wow! I was told that I had a slightly tilted uterus when I was in my twenties, but nothing was said about difficulties getting pregnant. My HSG hurt alot and I have a very low tolerance for pain. When I get to the IUI, I'm hoping that it doesn't hurt! Not to mention...I'm scared of needles!!!!!

I'm with you on the HSG pain! I read on my advice post question that IUI doesn't hurt as much as the needle for HSG. That too was a great concern for me! That's part of the reason my DH and I tried on our own for so long. Unfortunately, we m/c at 7 wks. Get to try again in Oct. though. Going back to the RE for round two at that time.
