I did not post this here but did post it on my journal a couple of days ago, you see I did IVF May of 2007 and had a baby girl in Jan of 2008. Well my Dr had told me that I should think about getting on Birth control because it is more likely that I could become PG do to my body knowing how. Well my hubby and I have been careful so far and started tracking my ovulation days and doing the deed around those days. We are wanting to have another baby but we have planned to lose weight and get his business up and running so that I may be able to go to part time or stop work all together. So we thought with in the next year and a 1/2. Well this month when AF started I got a brownish discharge for about a day and not a lot at all, and then that was it. I have had no other symptoms of PG like I did last time but seeing how I was so nervous last time I really noticed every little thing and I even think I maby made up some symptoms in my head. So I convinced myself to wait a couple of weeks before taking a HPT but then I remembered that the Dr put me on migraine medication and if I am then I should know so I could stop it. Well yesterday I went out and bought a two pack and took one at work of all places and nothing hap pend it did not work not even the control line showed up. So then I took the 2nd one home and low and be hold 2 lines showed up. Now the one line is very dark and the other is lighter but it is there. I even showed my hubby to make sure I was not seeing things. I just still think that it is a mistake. I mean I have no symptoms, and AF should have showed up over 2 weeks ago so the line should be darker. I think I bought a defected test pack and even though I do not have the money to do it I will go back out this week end and get another one. Now I know I said I was not having any PG symptoms but I am having pains in my lower abdomen which are nothing like AF pains. I have never had these types of pains before and they started two nights ago. I have stopped the migraine medication for now and because of that I am feeling dizzy which is normal after stopping medications. I guess I will know more this weekend. Do not get me wrong I would love to have another baby I am just afraid that with me taking the medication I may have done something to the baby if I am in fact PG. I know that a baby is a blessing and seeing how hard it was to have my little girl I would love to be able to have another one without the help of IVF. Here's to this weekend.
Anyways, if there were two lines then that would mean it detected the hCG in your body which would only be there if you injected it (like a trigger shot) or if you are pregnant. The only things I can account for the fainter line is that the test is defective, your embryo was a late implanter so your hormones are lower, the test you took is not very sensitive and needs higher amounts of hormones to show the second line or (and I hate to say this one and don't think it is it) you have a chemical pregnancy and your hormones are dropping (I am praying that is not it but I needed to be honest with my thoughts on all the different things that could be going on).
Again, I think you should call your doctor to know for sure. A blood test will tell you one way or the other. I wish you the very best of luck and hope it is a BFP!!! :-)
