Infertility Support Group

My husband and I have been married 18 months. We have been together for 6 years and most of that I have been off bc and not utilized protection. I have many medical problems as well. I went in for my yearly physical and my doctor talked to me about fertility testing and even getting on an adoption list. This all threw me, I have thought about it a little but my husband always says if we are meant to have a baby God will make it happen.
I approached my husband again on the topic of seeing a fertility doctor. I explained to him even if we didnt do treatments we could find out if it is even possible to have a baby. My doctor suggested the HSG test along with some labs on me and a few tests on my husband. We are still deciding if we want to go down this road and need to talk to insurance companies to know if they cover and what costs will be.
It is just really scary. I have gone through so much in my life and I have always thought of myself as normal and that would never have problems having a baby. That being said the thought of knowing both makes me excited and scared. Part of me is really scared that we cant have children and it be because of all my health issues, which my husband and I have known it was a possibility for years. It just feels like if I know it will make the reality of not being able to have a baby true and will have to give up the dream I have always had about being pregnancy.
We have not discussed adoption much as it is so expensive. I have many adopted relative, but it still scares me as well to know a mother could change their mind after we get a baby and have it taken away. I just never thought I would be in this situation and a having some problems working through it all. I can tell its affecting my personality a little and dont know how to talk it through with my husband. He is very supportive but not being me, he cant understand all the emotional things I am going through.

I would definitely see a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) to help you navigate through all of this. It's so important to be in competent hands when dealing with infertility. We are all here for you.
