So I'm having an unusual couple of days. My period is due in a 6 days (and it's ALWAYS right on time, never this early) so I've been taking ovulation tests and the last 5 days it has said I have had high ovulation, which I thought was very odd because that has never happened to me. Yesterday day I spotted a bit too, even with a positive ovulation test. So I am totally reading into this like I'm pregnant or something, and I really want to take a test but I feel like it's just my period being a bitch. Has this happened to anyone before? I guess I'll wait out the next couple of days to see if Aunt Flo comes in full swing.

I have not found ovulation predictor kits to be very helpful. When my boyfriend and I were first TTC, I was using them monthly, but they literally never came up positive even though my BBT seemed to indicate that I was ovulating. My doctor then told me that OPKs don't work for nearly 20% of the population. They can be thrown off by taking clomiphene, estrogen or progesterone supplements or if you have PCOS.

My understanding is that OPKs detect high levels of LH, which drops off in the case of a pregnancy. Is that the kind of OPK you're using?

The pack says that it tests for estrogen and LH. I agree that I have had some weirdness in consistency in the past. One month I bought an off brand and it told me I didn't ovulate at all for a month, then this one is telling me I've been ovulating for 6 days, who knows! It seems impossible to track and it's very frustrating

Don't worry guys, got my hopes up (again) for nothing. Cramps and much more than spotting today. Ice cream and crying for tonight
