Switching to Ganirelix and Menopur, help!!!

Okay so I took my second Lupron shot last night, and both times I got welts and a rash that my nurse agrees is definitely an allergic reaction. After I talked to her she said she needed to talk to the doctor and would call me back. After agonizing that I was going to be canceled the phone rings - I'm not canceled (THANK GOD) but they're going to switch me to Ganirelix and Menopur and now my timeline is all screwed up. So here's my list of questions:

1. Who has taken them? What's the usual protocol?
2. Has anyone switched suppression protocol mid-suppression and been okay?
3. Who the hell is suddenly allergic to Lupron?? This isn't my first rodeo!

They're going to go over my chart and call me tomorrow with my new instructions but I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG.

I am not sure how those meds help with supression. I was on birth control for supression, then on menopur and follistim for stimulation of the follicles and ganirelix to prevent ovulation. Is it possible they will just switch you to birth control and use the other meds later?

I have done 5 IVF cycles. Four we're ganirelix and menopur cycles. One was Lupron. I liked ganirelix and menopur a whole lot better than lupron. Lupron gave me major headaches. Ganirelix and Menopur cycles are usually shorter cycles.
I've never switched suppression protocol mid-cycle, but I suppose suppression is suppression right?
Not sure how you just developed an allergic reaction to Lupron.

Well the good news is, I have never been loopy on either ganirelex or menopur. But never used them together for suppression, so who knows, it could still make you as loopy.

And I would assume they have done this before or they would not just switch you mid suppression, so I am guessing suppression is suppression.

I used menopur along with my stims. And Ganirelex to hold off ovulation until trigger. Either one are really no biggie other than they both can sting. Menopur is not so stingy if they allow you to mix it with other stims... but that wont help you. I found for both that the slower I inject the meds the less they sting. But still found myself putting some ice on the injection spot for a few minutes to help with the stinging.
