Hi, I have PCOS. And only one fallopian tube due to an ectopic. I did IVF, which gave me a great batch of eggs 9 fertilized. I had 3 FETs (no fresh transfers because OHSS) the first was a chemical pregnancy, second was bfn. The third worked! and now I have a beautiful 4 month old baby girl. So yes it can work for you too! I wouldn't mind hearing some responses, too, since I'm in the same boat. We're starting our third try soon. My egg quality improved last time with a change in protocol, and I'm hoping that our gentler approach this time will make it even better. Doesn't ever hurt hearing about others who have had good results.

I can only offer this...I have an acquaintance with PCOS who carefully changed her diet to a South Beach type diet and she was able to get pregnant twice without any other intervention, I believe. I don't think PCOS necessarily means we can't produce eggs that result in babies. Also, my RE is not at all one to sugar coat things and she's a leader in her field. She hasn't said ANYTHING to me about negative affects of PCOS on egg quality. I know stims can negatively affect egg quality. It's really difficult, even with good doctors, to find the right combination for our bodies. I think that's why it sometimes takes many tries and tweaking.

Well, I'm a PCOS success story, but not by IVF but by IUI. I did a few injectable cycles with TI because my DH has a great sperm count, then I did an IUI and everything was perfect on paper but still BFN, then on my 2nd IUI we got pregnant with twins and I'm just over 12 weeks now!

And I agree with sweettooth - I think there's a lot of tweaking that needs to happen to find that "perfect" combo of drugs for you. For me, it was menopur. The cycle we added in menopur was the one I got pregnant on. Everything before that was just Gonal F and I always got good, mature follies but never got pregnant. I guess that little bit of LH helped.

I have PCOS too. Unfortunately, treatments gave no result. I did 3 ivf rounds with my eggs. All of them failed. I was 37 when I had round #3. I don't want to waste more time. Now I have round #4, but with donor eggs. My first meeting with a Dr was a couple of weeks ago. All needed medical tests are done! My Dr gave me a treatment plan. So now I'm following the instructions and get ready for the transfer! I'm so nervous and excited at the same time! There will be 5 embryo transfers. The clinic returns money in case of failure... But I hope at least one will work! Wish me luck!

This's shocking how many people face infertility nowadays! Sure everyone has different cases but we all want one thing - to become a parent. This's amazing that more and more people talk about it. Stories about long ttc with happy endings inspired me to be strong and keep going. One of the best places to find solidarity along your infertility journey is online. I found support on ttc boards like this one. I meet women with the same issues and the same struggles. I can vent here and they supported me no matter what. There is great comfort in reading about what other people have experienced. The one thing I know for sure is all of us face judgment, incomprehension, ignorance, and rudeness from people in our everyday life. And finding a place, where you can talk and discuss your struggle is a very good idea for someone who faced infertility. When I had my 5th failed IVF cycle, I was broken. I was seriously thinking it was time to stop trying. I was 41 and well let's be honest, there were not that many options left for me. I'm so grateful to women who supported me and gave me hope. I went through a cycle of mitochondrial donation and I'm pregnant, waiting for my baby to see this world!
