Success after ectopic

I'm looking for success stories after an ectopic. I just had surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy on my left ovary (extremely rare) after my third IVF cycle. Has anyone else experienced an ectopic pregnancy with IVF? Is so did you go on to have a healthy baby? My doctors are baffled by this latest development and aren't sure how/why my embryo decided to travel so far. Thanks for any information!

Sorry about your ectopic pregnancy. My doctor thought I had an ectopic pregnancy after my IVF cycle in July '09. Come to found out it was just a miscarriage. Both of my tubes were ok. I did get pregnant in December of '09 and went on to have a healthy baby boy this past July '10. Good luck. I hope everything works out for you.

I had an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year. I actually got pregnant naturally as we were preparing to start IVF. I ended up needing emergency surgery to remove the pregnancy along with one of my tubes. The surgery was in March. I did my first IVF cycle in July and got a BFN. I then did a frozen cycle right away and got a BFP! I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with twins! It can happen!! After having the ectopic I was very scared of having another one. I did some research and from what I read ectopics from IVF are extremely rare.

I didn't go through IVF, but I had a strange thing happen to me earlier this year. I had gotten a BFP and was 7 weeks when I started having a lot of bleeding. I went to the ER and they discovered that I had an ectopic AND a regular pregnancy at the same time. I guess this is extremely rare. Anyway, I had to have emergency surgery to remove the ectopic (and most of my tube) and the doctor said there was only a 50/50 chance that the other baby would survive. Amazingly, miraculously, it has survived.... I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant. This little guy is a fighter for sure. There'll be another test when we try for baby #2 with only one tube, though...

I just had an eptopic recently too, from my first IVF cycle. First pregnancy ever, so it was really hard for me to get so excited and then try to realize I was getting surgery to remove it. My surgery was just Sept 9th, so I am just chilling out now for awhile, just trying naturally. I may try some herbs too. Did you have the laproscopic surgery through the belly button and two other small areas?

Thank you for the posts. I go to my doctor on Thursday for a post-op appointment. I had blood work Friday so hopefully tomorrow they will call with good news that my beta is lowering.

mnm27- Yes, I had the same surgery. I'm guessing I won't even see the scars after I heal.

I also had an ectopic concieved with the help of clomid. It was removed along with the tube it was in and while they were poking around in there they checked out my other tube and found that it was scarred. The verdict was I would never conceive on my own. Now I have a beautiful baby girl through IVF.
