Hi all. I’m starting IVF tomorrow. I’m new to this. I lost half of my ovaries to bilateral teratomas in August. I’m younger than I thought I’d be thinking about kids. But I start IVF next week and I’m nervous. Anyone know what I should expect hormonally speaking?

I’ve just begun IVF as well and will be starting my injections in a few days. I am SUPER nervous too! My doc said the meds will hopefully just make me really emotional. Best of luck to you!

I've done three cycles and the first one was a breeze, but for the second and third, I was more emotional (whether related to the meds or to the fact that I was doing a 2nd and 3rd cycle, I don't know) and felt more bloated and ovarian pain. It wasn't anything that disrupted my day or caused a problem, I was just slightly uncomfortable toward the end of the cycle. I wish everyone the very best!

Good luck to you all! Things were not so bad at the beginning for me but got a little more challenging near the end. I do think some of that was me just being anxious about the collection and next stage though.

Give yourself lots of space and be kind to yourself! I said no to a lot of things and took time to rest and put my feet up during the weeks. You deserve it!

I got to the hospital first round to be told that all embroys didn't survive the second one I had two transferred in me but didn't survive I am thinking third time lucky I wish you all best and you have us all if you need to talk xx

Wow thanks so much for the feedback! Turns out I have a functional cyst that’s going to push my start day back a few weeks. I have to do 4 or 5 rounds. We’re hoping to freeze 20 eggs. So, I’m here for the long haul. Coolchick11 I’m sure third times the charm! Sending all my optimism to you ladies on your journeys.

It's an emotional rollercoaster! Surround yourself with a positive support team. I also recommend seeing a therapist who specialized in infertility. Good luck.

Is the emotional side effects similar to the ones from Clomid? Worse or better than Clomid? I'm just curious.
