I tell you I am SOOOOOO freakin sick of seeing these young 20 year old pregnant girls smoking?????? WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM???? I guess they think low birth weight babies is a cool thing.

I'm with ya sister. and after the babies are born and need diapers they probably wont be able to afford them but they will have their pack of smokes.

Oh yes. My favorite is the ones sitting at a bar smoking like it's no big deal.

I too agree that seeing a woman, no matter what her age may be, smoking while she is pregnant is just horrible. But, having been a smoker for more than 13 years, I can say that quitting smoking was one of the hardest things that I have ever done. Coming in second to the loss of my son. But I do think that in todays society, some of these women don't even try and that is truely a shame.

I just did a breast feeding class and there was an 18 year old, saying she quit smoking and then admitted she started back up around month 4 of her pregnancy. Everyone was just staring at her in disbelief, then someone said she shouldn't be doing that, etc and she replies "ok if it's that bad i better stop". As if she didn't know... obviously she did or she wouldn't have quit to begin with. I feel sorry for this baby already

I agree with you. My SIL who just turned 20 and is 6 months pregnant (not married...didn't even want kids) has been smoking and doing god knows what else the entire time. She actually told people who go to the same doctor as her that the OB told her she could smoke. Can't say I've ever heard that one!

I know exactly what you mean. I met a woman last week who is 5 months pregnant and smoking! I didn't even know she was pregnant initially because her baby bump is super small. I couldn't hold my tongue and said that she shouldn't be smoking and she said she'd been cutting back!

As an ex-smoker of 12+ yrs on and off, I know how hard it is to quit BUT I quit cold turkey before we started our treatments. I knew that the health of myself and my baby was more important. It's not that hard to quit if you want the best for your baby.

i wished i could tell yall that im an ex smoker myself but I have drastically cut back and I hope to be smoke free b4 my treatment goes in to full swing. I know the frustration I see PG women smoke all the time and its hard for me not to say nothing I think its stupid to make an innocent life suffer becuase of a selfsh habit and I have always said from minute one I would never touch a cigarette once I got a BFP and thats promise I intend to keep
