I haven't but might need to if my husband has to go to Spain to visit his grandmother..if you want a laugh...my mom told me I should see if the Pharmacist at CVS would do it for me. LOL, can you imagine, pulling your pants down at CVS for a shot.

I need to take it for my trigger tonight and the progesterone shots after ET. Just looking at it makes me faint already. DH will be doing the shot and I'm nervous! Ay ya yay!!!

We haven't done IVF yet, but I've heard other people say they've done it. I have a feeling I'll be giving all of my shots to myself cuz my DH works really weird hours and probably won't be home at the appropriate time. If you have to do it yourself, I'm sure there's a way!

Oh! And at the injection class they advised us not to do it ourselves. They have on call nurses at our center that can administer so maybe that option is available at your center as well.

I haven't had to do it yet, but will with my FET as my husband lives in another state. Not looking forward to it, but I can do anything if it will help us get pregnant!

I give myself all of my own shots. I don't know what
shot(s) you have to do. I do both my progesterone and estadiol shot. My dr gave me the ok to do it in my thigh so you don't have to turn around. It is possible to do it in your rear but the thigh is way easier position.

I had to give myself the HCG (trigger) shot b/c my DH was out of town. I marked the spot, iced it, leaned up against the counter w/ my right ankle crossed over my left (to relax the right butt muscles), twisted around, and did it. It wasn't fun, but if you have to, you can do anything.

I hate to admit this, but I think my DH actually enjoyed sticking my butt w/ sharp objects. Let him relive the days when he wanted to grow up to be a dr. Or let him get back at me for whatever... LOL.

My hubby got over his fear and did mine but there was a girl at my office who gave herself shots by sitting on the edge of chair with one cheek hanging off and reach around to inject. My suggestion is to have your hubby take the class if offered or have him practice on sticking a banana so he get the feel. Thats the closes fruit to human skin feel ( thats what I used when I practiced shots in nursing school.) Good Luck

I basically give myself all my shots!!!! Actually, I like the bigger needle because it goes in smoother, somehow or another!!! Believe me, if I can do it - anyone can!! I am the biggest baby when it comes to needles.....I try not to think of it and try not to look at how long the actually need really is!! I focus on the end results...a BABY!! (hopefully very soon)

I have to do those shots. My DH was terrified to do them too. He was shown once and now he's a pro at it!!!
He just says that he hates hurting me. Awww!

My husband has a HORRIBLE fear of needles. But he has given me all my shots for 3 cycles. Mine were all IM and all in the butt with the big long needle too. But he did it and so can yours. GOOD LUCK!

I was lucky that I only had to give myself the sub-q shots. I did see a few videos on youtube showing people giving themselves im shots, though. It was encouraging! :)

NO never would do that on your own. When DH is out of town I go to my RE office and have them do the shot for me.

Tell your DH you have to ENDURE the shots as well as all the other meds, the procedure, pregnancy and childbirth. LOL. After a couple pokes, he should be OK with giving it to you....you have to move around quite a bit of area on your bum b/c you get bruises and welts. I do think it's doable for you to give yourself maybe one out of four shots but there are going to be some hard to reach places. Good luck.

I was able to do it by myself actually it wa easy. I would put my hand on my side and where my thumb was is where I would take the shot, after a while it didn't hurt anymore. I also know other women who did it while lying on there side. Good Luck
