Okay need help understanding all this

Morphology 4%
Head def % 88
midpiece defect % 5
tailpiece defect % 3

Motility 65%
Concentration 11.0

ph 8.3
viscosity normal

Someone help me understand this, MD said morphology was not good and referring DH to urologist, but i want to know about all this. Any advice?

Comparing this to DH's SA, which includes the "normal range" numbers on the print out they gave us. Normal Morphology is supposed to be greater than 30. However, I found this article on the Mayo Clinic site that says even 4% can be considered normal. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/male-infertility/expert-answers/sperm-morphology/faq-20057760
So I really have no idea!

The defect percentages do not have normal ranges listed on our paperwork, but those aren't far off from my DH and the doc didn't say they were a problem. The only other thing I see is his concentration, which my paperwork says should be 20-100. That might be the real problem, since having more sperm gives a better chance of having normal morphology??? I don't know, though.

I do know there are options. There are many supplements, diet changes, etc, for sperm quality. I'm sure there are many other things the urologist will suggest, too. Don't lose hope!

WOW pretty sad, doc never pointed that out on test, so i guess now we have concentration to worry about, hubby works a lot sometimes gets only a few hrs a sleep (maybe 3 hrs) and I just want him to stop working so much but we got bills that need to be paid...man so complicated sometimes.

Sheesh, looking at your hubby's SA, I was like, "woohoo!! y'all's looks great!!!"...my husband's is WAY worse and they repeated the SA like 3 times over the period of a year and a half...I don't actually think those numbers at that bad.

If the doc didn't bring up the concentration, than it must not be a big deal. (I'm no expert! I'm just comparing the paperwork I have to yours and have no idea how to interpret it!) There are a lot of options, so it definitely isn't something that should stop you from having children. Plus, everything else is really good, so I'd say try not to worry too much. (Good luck with that!)
