I've been TTC for four years and have had two miscarriages (one from a one in a million natural pregnancy and one with Letrozole).
We worked with an RE for nearly two years and had a dozen failed assisted IUIs. In June, we switched REs and finally decided to begin down the IVF path. I had my egg retrieval in September.
Because of our history of miscarriage, we did CCS (genetic testing) on the embryos. The machine malfunctioned while the embryologists were doing the genetic testing. So, they had to freeze the embryos and then get our permission to thaw the embryos and do a second round of genetic testing and then re-freeze them. They assured us that statistics show identical live birth rates with this second round of testing.
We had our first FET in November with two perfect embryos and my perfect uterus and it failed. We immediately tried again in December. We just had my beta yesterday, and our second "perfect" IVF also failed.
We are absolutely devastated and worried that the four embryos we have left are damaged in some way because of the second CCS testing.
We are also concerned that if IVF didn't work twice, why should it work with our remaining embryos? Everything was absolutely perfect, and there were four opportunities (embryos) for it to work. With a 70% success rate per embryo, it sure seems that is should have worked with four chances.

What does your gut tell you to do? Do you want to continue to try with the frozen embryos or try for a fresh cycle? I'm not a doc, so don't know the science about removing cells twice or freezing twice. But sometimes we also need things that make us feel more confident that we can become pregnant.
So listen to your heart on this one and then trust your heart (whether it's to continue with frozen or try a fresh cycle).
As for why 2 cycles failed...it's actually more common than we care to admit. The chances of a successful outcome (live birth) is usually 35 to 45% depending on the clinic. My clinic offers 60% success, but that's just to get to pregnancy, not a live birth. For a live birth, it's more like 45%. So the majority of us will fail.
If one were to do the math on this that means (assuming 42% success):
only 2/3 of us will have success after 2 attempts.
80% will have success after 3 attempts...
and even after 6 attempts, almost 5% of us will still not be successful.
It's hard, but we try to keep this in mind since this is a long-term solution, but doesn't always work right away.
I'm starting my 2nd cycle now with frozen embryos and hoping for a better outcome.
