I'm so sorry that you are going thru this! 35 is such an important age in our struggle, and i totally get the heartache of all these obstacles that are standing in your way. What did your Dr say? Did they give you any options that are realistic for you guys? It's so hard finding people to talk to who really understand what you're going thru... this community has so many different women who have similar yet very individual obstacles, but the one thing i think we all have in common is the challenges - facing friends and family's pressure, seeing babypictures and ultrasounds, hearing news etc... Just know that we - I might not know exactly what you're going thru, but i can understand this challenge. ALL my friends are moms, EVERYONE we hang out with is a parent, and we are always asked "do you have kids? Not yet, ok maybe in the future" etc. It's such a private issue but everyone feels entitled to ask you or comment about it... bottom line is i hope you know that you are not alone in feeling sad or dejected. Everyone tells me i'm always bubbly and smiling - very few know my story, but its so important that we lean on our friends here who understand.
If you ever want to talk, please know im here.
sending you hugs.
It helps to know that someone understands. Its exactly that, people don't really know how we feel. I'm trying to stay positive, I'm trying not to let it interfere in my relationship with my husband, but its difficult. I focus on it so much even though I try not to, its possessed me somehow. I have a doctors appointment coming up next week to try to get a better understanding of my results and of what the next steps will be. What is your story? why are you here?
Thank you for your kind words of support.
I have PCOS and i guess we really just started on this 'infertility journey" last march. I've been married almost 8 years, and this whole time we just figured that it hasn't happened, and whatever. Maybe we were in some denial, who knows. But my ob-gyn was not helpful in ever really giving us any answers, but they did put me on clomid for a little, but i was such a mess i stopped it. so we finally decided we should see an endocrinologist at the advice of my PCP. So we did and after figuring out that i have PCOS - eventhough apparently i don't meet all the symptoms, but either you have it or you don't, i apparently do. I also have high prolatin, which my gyn figured out, but just gave me meds and never really checked on it except when i would ask. So that combined with the endo, they got all the hormones balanced and then when still nothing happened, sent me to a reproductive endo. Basically, they started me on letrozol for 6 months, and still nothing, so we met back in January and decided let's try IUI with letrozol and then see. Meanwhile, both Jan and Feb days for IUI we couldn't do it, so it's like just wasting months. It's ridiculously frustrating, but i'm trying to put on the happy face like it's no big deal. And for most people i do, and to a point to my husband too, b/c this isn't easy for him either. So i have this site as an outlet to be honest and be like hey - this all royally sucks!! How hard is it to find one day a month to be around and available for IUI!! Well that is my story as i at least understand it.
Yesterday one of my coworkers who became a friend introduced me to her baby. She went thru IVF and we've talked about the struggle a little bit. But i want to be - and i am, honestly, happy for her. She knows the journey, and i'm happy that she has success..but i'd be lying if i said i haven't been thinking about it since. (Well since she told me).
Anyway, sorry for blabbering on.. i hope this made sense. It was just one of my moments where i just typed and let it all out. I hope it helps you and maybe others.
I also think we should have a big virtual ice cream party in pj's filled with candy and alcohol as an additional support group. :-) <3
lilie315 that sounds like some journey. Wow, I found someone who did IVF and talked to her about it. it sounds like a viable option just $$ and no guarantee it will work. Scary but seems like our best option.. I also found out that I have hypothyroid so that has to be stabilized before anything.. anyone else have that? so now combination of two (not one) Fallopian tubes, endometriosis, low ovarian reserve, hypothyroid, and my husband low sperm mobility.. well we need a miracle. or a really good doctor. I will pray for both.
Hope you're all ok. This feels like such a lonely journey. Everyone around seems preggo! Its practically intolerable. but trying to stay hopeful and positive.
