I understand how you feel completely. My husband and I have been trying for 4 years and our issue is low sperm count as well. No doctor has ever given us any hope, we go to a specialist for an IVF consult in May but I feel like we are going to be just wasting our time because there's no way we can afford it. I just found out my sister is pregnant last night. I'm struggling and I don't know what to do. This is the first time I've signed up for a support group and I read your post and I sympathize with you. I also struggle with baby showers, should I go to not make people mad and think I'm being selfish or do I really want to put myself through the pain and have to put up a fake smile for everyone. Don't worry about anyone else and you only go if you truly want to. They may not understand but no one does unless they have struggled with infertility. I feel alone in this, I know a lot of people who have struggled with infertility but now they all have children. And even though they know how I feel they still have a success story that I don't have. I pray for you today.

Thank you for that. I am sorry you are going through this. Infertility is something I would never hope for someone. I don't have anyone in my circle who understands what I'm going through, it's nice to read stories from other people's expierences and their dreams coming true. It gives me hope! This is my first time on a support group, I appreciate your honesty and your response.. I read it and I felt comfort. I tried to talk to my husband this morning about how I was feeling and he took it wrong as if I was jealous of their happiness and all I wanted him to do was hug me and say it's ok. I'm just sad for myself, I want to expierence the joys, ups and downs, morning sickness., pregnancy, and every month I feel like I'm loosing hope! It's my dream fading away that makes me sad and not knowing if I'll ever have it come true.

I hope everything works out for you guys. I wish IVF was more affordable and insurance would cover it. I was reading a post the other day on Pinterest and it was so true that infertility is a disease and insurance shouldn't dictate what they will cover or not. It's not a choice in life that we made. They'll cover forms preventing pregnancy but not ways to help you conceive.

I struggle with being happy for people, too. There's no way I could go to a baby shower right now. I would be absolutely miserable.

Maybe you should just send your regrets, say you're sick or something. You're already dealing with the stress of infertility, why add to it?

As I read your reply back I have said every single word you just did. It's comforting to know there is others that do know how you feel and we are not alone. My husband has said the same things and got upset when I didn't go to his cousins baby shower. Men do not understand the desire that we have in our hearts. I know I don't know you but I feel like I know a lot about you because you sound like you are in the same exact place I am in my life. My prayers go out to you and I pray one day we both have success stories to share. I don't know if you have ever heard of it but my husband and I are considering embryo adoption. It is where we adopt an embryo that is genetically matched up to us and they implant it in me to where I still get to carry and deliver the baby even though it is not our own DNA, it's something that no one would ever have to know. It sounds too good to be true, I just recently got the application for it. Just wanted to throw that option out there as well. Not many people know about it, and I didn't either until about 4 months ago.

Thank you all for your kind words. I went to the baby shower, I was worried that me not being there would be taken the wrong way. There were things said to me that we're upsetting. Later that day I found myself and to be alone and distant.

My husband and I bought the fertilaid vitamins and are trying those. In April we are going to have our first IUI done. Also I bought me a fertility bracelet. I am staying hopeful.

I feel comforted from reading your comments and I feel like I have know you all as well. Thank you again for being here for me when I needed it. I hope that our dreams come true and we have healthy babies.
