Think of it just like trying to get pregnant the good old fashioned way(what is that again, haha). Not every fertile woman gets pregnant every time she tries, so you have to cut yourself some slack. I was once told that you could have the most perfectly developed embryo and not get pregnant, then the have the least well developed with all the cards stacked against it and there's your BFP. Just keep your chin up and I'll try to keep mine up and hopefully we'll all eventually be pregnant together!

There can be many reasons or no reason at all. A lot of women get pregnant the good old fashioned way and never know b/c the body miscarries it early on b/c it knows it is not going to be viable. So it is hard to say. I know some women find out there is an issue with their lining or that they have some enzyme or someting that kills the egg or embryo. I wish I had an exact answer b/c then we would all be pregnant the first IVF cycle.

Genetics and a bunch of stuff no one can really answer or control play a huge role. I'm on my 3rd failed IVF cycle so if and when you get that specific answer please let me know.

I know from my own experience my doctor said she didn't se any problems with me getting pregnant quickly (we have MFI). After three failed IVF cycles I had a biospy done of the lining of my uterus. It showed it was inflammed. My doctor is now saying this could be why I had three failed cycles.

I have a blood disorder called Thrombophilia. I've read several recent studies that suggest this is a cause of failed IVF's. I've never had IVF, so I can't speak personally on this, but as I said, I've read quite a few things on this.

I wish I knew the answer to that one too. I've never been pregnant and according to the doctors, there is nothing wrong with me. I ask myself why all the time. All I can do is pray and hope.

Boy do I wish I had the answer to that question. I haven't done IVF and probably never will because we can't afford it, but I've had a failed IUI (I know, that's small potatoes here on this site). I think my problems stem from having too much estrogen. My RE told me what could be happening is the high levels of estrogen makes the follicles grow very quickly but the egg doesn't have a chance to fully mature before its released. So I am ovulating and probably releasing eggs that aren't mature enough to fertilize.

That's why for this IUI I am taking Lupron for a few weeks, hopefully this will keep my estrogen levels from skyrocketing so fast.
