Jakeswife is right - not second gen clomid but seems to be the last ditch effort for oral med's after clomid. It is an aromatase inhibitor and isn't FDA approved for it's use in infertility but it does work, it gave me a BFP! The side effects are much less than clomid. I only had hot flashes and the slight headache in comparison to clomid which had severe effects on my CM, makes me anxious and depressed plus a severe headache and raging hot flashes!! GL!

I took Letrozole as well and the only side effect I had was hot flashes. I took it for 3 months and finally got my BFP on the 3rd cycle :)

This will be my second cycle with Femera. Like most said above it is not FDA approved for fertility treatments, but it does get the job done.

I will say that, for me, I am glad that my RE made the switch. With the clomid, I had the hot flashes, the headaches, absolutely no CM, and then when it came time to ovulate, the pain was unbearable.

There is some pretty scary stuff about birth defects if taken while pregnant, but it also leaves your system within a few days compared to clomid, which can take up to six weeks. So by the time you conceive, Femera will be out of your system.
