Did anyone do an IUI and have to be put on Progestorne immediately afterwards. If so what kind of side effects did you have?

I did an IUI last month and three days following the IUI, i started the Progesterone supp.The only weird side affect I had(and I dont know if this is what caused it or not)was some really crazy dreams!I know thats not much help.Sorry.Best of luck to you!

This is interesting. My RE told me that they would only do the progesterone if I had a positive pg test after my IUI. When I go next time I'm going to ask them why they don't start it sooner.

I am exactly the same as Alwayshop...
I started the supp. 3 days after the IUI. Got a BFP two weeks after the IUI and I am continuing with the supp. until my 12th week. No real side effects that I can tell except your bowels will slow WAY down and lots of discharge!!! You'll want to wear a liner.

I started the suppositories the day after my IUI. The only side effects that I had were some hot flashes. I am on suppositories again for my first IVF and am having no symptoms so who knows.

I was on Progesterone suppositories (3x a day) and Estrogen patches following my ET in my IVF cycle--so take this with a grain of salt, since I had other hormonal stuff going on. My experience is that the progesterone made me irritable and bitchy, but who knows if that was just the progesterone, or the combination of that and the estrogen?

I had an IUI 1 week ago and was put on the supp right away. They are not fun, but I have no side effects.
