PCOS

I recently found out my second IUI was not successful. I was diagnosed with PCOS in the summer and did 3 rounds of Femara (one with IUI), and one round of clomid/ ovidrel/ IUI. I am scheduled to have a laparoscopic “clean out” that my Dr. says is routine for patients at this point. Anyone else have a similar experience? My surgery is in 2 months and they don’t seem to think there is any point in trying again until then. I love my Dr. and I have had a wonderful experience with her so far, just a little discouraged (and impatient!).

I did my 'clean out' surgery before the IUI's, but sounds very similar. I did meds alone, then surgery, IUI's, then IVF. And the IVF was successful. The surgery was very minor and I recovered very quickly. I can certainly relate to feeling discouraged and very impatient! The whole process seems like a game of hurry up and wait!!! Good luck!!

I have PCOS and did 2 rounds of IUI too. I'm not sure what the "clean out" is, but i did have an HCG prior to the IUIs. Neither worked though. I totally hear the inpatient and discouraged phase, but maybe it will be good. Give your body some time to rest in between starting things up again soon.

I have PCOS....and have had 2 babies.
I don't know what the clean out is...I don't thing I've ever heard of that and have been in IF support groups for awhile now. The HSG is normal...where they sort of flush out everything to make sure your tubes are open and all--it's not a surgery though. Is that what they are doing?

My first baby was a miracle cancelled IUI cycle....where thankfully we decided to hold off on another treatment cycle bc my husband was going to be traveling for work....I would have conceived on day 90something (my cycles were crazy). Then in the years after she was born, I started to eat paleo (gluten free, whole foods, still did whole fat dairy) and then we decided to try again and at this point my cycles were regular and I was able to conceive with just tracking cycles and CM in like 3 months when we made the decision to try (we hadn't been preventing for a couple years though).
So there is hope!
