OPK confusion

Hi Girls,

I am a little confused about my OPK results. I tested the day before yesterday and I had a faint line, then yesterday and it detected the surge, which I was expecting... however I thought it would take another 24 to 36hrs for ovulation to occur, but since my temps have gone up this morning it would mean that I ovulated yesterday, the same day that the OPK was positive???!! How can this be, am I interpreting the OPK wrong? The line was only darker than the control line yesterday so....

Please let me know what you guys think

My understanding is that when it detects a surge, that is when you are most likely to concieve, for up to 36 hours after detection.
Are you using the clearblue monitor.. the digital one?
Mine failed to show me a surge this month and according to the blood work i had today, I did ovulate and it missed it.. so they arent all that accurate as far as I can see.
Id for sure call your dr.
what's your story? are you going through insemination, or?? If so, and you saw the surge today, then you need to call your nurse and let her know so that you can go in and do the procedure.

Hi sunshines, No no insemination yet... I am on my last round of Clomid (my doctor allowed one more month) if I don't get preggo before Jan then its a lap to see what is going on and then probably IVF... thankfully I get a lot of symptoms before ovulating so I had a hunch I would around this time and have timed BD fairly well (well almost) so I guess I'll just have to wait and see....

So just peeing on the stick? not putting it in a machine for the machine to detect a surge?
What are you looking for on the stick??? 2 matching lines, or a smilie face, or?

Once you get your surge, you should ovulate in 24-48 hours. My RE doesn't even have me temp anymore because it is not very accurate for all women. My temp sometimes goes up before I've ovulated and sometimes it's still up when AF comes. Chances are, you haven't ovulated yet. And if, by chance, you did OV yesterday, if you BD now, the egg might still be able to be fertilized. Good luck!
