Hello. Warninglong post ahead. I'm new to the group and hoping to find some peace/strength/comraderie from gett to know some other women who might be experiencing the same thing as me. My husband and I started ttc July 2016. After a full year of unsuccessful attempts I finally scheduled an appointment with my dr to have a discussion about what might be keeping us from conceiving. A few days before that appointment I received a positive pregnancy test and was excited to cancel that appointment and schedule a confirmation appointment instead. Both urine and blood tests confirmed a pregnancy and the symptoms came shortly after. We were excited to schedule that first sonogram and hear a strong heartbeat. At 8 weeks, what was seen on the sonogram was a fetal pole that measured 6 weeks and no heartbeat. That day stands out as absolutely the worst day of my life. I was scheduled for a D&C because my body would not miscarry on its own like I was hoping. I'm finally back to having a regular cycle but as I suspected, once again we've been unable to conceive. Finally, my dr thought I might benefit from clomid. I have a shirt leuteal phase and so I was finally hopeful again that I was back on track. After the first round of clomid, hcg injections, and progesterone, my cycle began yesterday and was probably the worst day I've had emotionally since the miscarriage-ugly cried all day long and my husband had to literally pick me up off the ground. I know there are many women who have been at this longer than I have, but it's taking all the strength I have to keep going every day. I'm hoping that this group can help me maintain sanity and I hope to serve as encouragement for other women as they also navigate this incredibly difficult journey to motherhood. If you've read to the end, thank you, and I look forward to sharing with the group.
