My 6 plus year journey of trying to get pregnant finally has some hope. After 4 IUI's, 2 egg donors, 15 separate eggs, only 3 embryos made the cut. During IVF #3 we transferred our last & only remaining frozen embryo. With my first 2 embryo transfers (single) both times not even a 1 was detected on my hCG blood draws. This time my 1st draw was 161 & the 2nd 418. The amazing phone call from my nurse saying "you're pregnant " had me & my husband both in tears & to our knees. It's a long road ahead & the wait til our ultrasound seems like forever. I truly believe my prayers,faith, yoga, accupuncture, doubling up on my progesterone (p.i.o. shots & vaginal suppositories) & the "scratching"procedure I had done 1 month prior to transfer really helped. Trying to stay positive, taking care of myself & playing the waiting game as I continue with the painful shots my hubby gives me ever night is all worth it.

Congratulations to you !! It gives me hope as I read multiple success stories . I had my first IVF failure and have been devastated . I don't want to give up hope yet and I want to go for round 2 . Iam curious ..My doctor has suggested the scratching procedure as well before my next round . Was it painful ? Did it really help ? It would great to hear from people who have actually gone through it rather than Google

I truly believe it did help. My first 2 failed transfers were text book almost perfect. Great blood draws, no cysts at suppression check. No extra needed estrogen, thick & ready lining & even the embryos were almost both short of being AA qualities. Everything was on track except the actual implantation. So they wanted to rule out any new pollups. None were found. So while they were in there they did the scratching. The scratching didn't actually hurt it was the camera & device that got though my cervix that did. She gave me a Valium & an oxy. I only took the Valium & thank God. She said the cramping I was having during the procedure was like a labor pain. Omg. I was bawling my eyes out but I was brave & it was fast. It is supposed to create a velcro like textured wall for the embryo to attach better. I truly believe mine did. :)

Thanks for responding !! Your brave for sure !! So it does hurt a bit but bearable probably like a IUI where they insert the speculum and catheter , I have been asked to take some antibiotics and a pain killer before . Hope iam as brave as you and get done with the procedure quickly ! 5- 10 mins max probably ?? Thank you for sharing ..Wishing you the best of luck for the next 9 months for your little bundle of joy.

Thanks for the good wishes. You will be fine. Sounds like you are like me & you need a "pain scale" & comparison. An IUI catheter& spec is much smaller than the ones used for ivf, I found IUI uncomfortable. Ivf scale of 1-10 a 2 the scratching more like a 8.5 just prepare yourself. Painkiller is a must. I found the muscle relaxer useful for being noodle like & loose. :)
