I can't help you with your radiation question. I had the same concern when was supposed to have dentist appointment during the stim phase of my IVF. Luckily I was able to reschedule until after my first beta when i will know for sure if it works.
I have a really hard time dealing with close friends when they get pregnant. I know I am not being a good friend but I avoid them for a while and cannot talk pregnacy talk with them. I do what I have to to protect myself.
I don't know how to cope with it better, it just makes me cry.
I have been able to talk to a colleague about the work/radiation situation-which has helped put it into perspective a bit more.
As for having the friends getting pregnant-it is so hard! I completely understand the avoidance tactic when it comes to pregnant friends-you have to try and maintain some self preservation. Hopefully, the friends will understand....you can't accuse yourself of being a bad friend because you have to take care of yourself through all of this -it is such a tough time.
It's not easy seeing everyone around you getting preggo when you so desperately want it. I try to stay off facebook or hide the people that are constantly posting pics or status updates about their bundles of joy. This support group has helped me immensely. My pets help a lot. They are my "babies".
