Hi All,
Today has been a hard day. I have not talked to anyone other than my supportive family, husband, and DR regarding my infertility. My girl friends seem to be freaked out by my infertility and don't ask me how I'm doing or talk to me. I have now hit my wall with feeling alone (not speaking with anyone else going through infertility).
So doing a google search I landed here.
My Story- I'm 29 (30 in Sept) My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over 4 years. After 2 years of trying on our own we found ourselves in a Fertility Specialist's office. After being a little concerned about one of my tubes she sent me to have an HSG (I was having a little pain on my left side as well). The HSG went well and we were told everything looked good including lab work (we were over the moon!). Flash forward two months later and I was in the emergency room in so much pain on my left side. I ended up finding out everything was NOT ok. I called my DR and told her I was in the emergency room and they were telling me my tubes were dilated. She told me that the HSG looked good to her and hopefully I was pregnant!? Thats was the last day I spoke to that DR. The emergency room recommended a new Fertility Specialist. After the new DR reviewed my previous HSG and gave me an ultrasound it was VERY clear my tubes were dilated. Going into surgery we decided to only take out my left tube because I was in so much pain on that side. We were hoping we could save my right tube. After surgery my DR informed me that my right tube was bad as well and recommended I remove it eventually. He also said he may have saw a polyp on my uterus but would remove it when I had another surgery!? My DR said to keep trying to conceive until I wanted to have a second surgery and start IVF (even with a polyp on my uterus). After my first surgery I continued to get UTIs and was repeatedly in the DR's office in pain. Feeling like I was getting no where with this DR I ended our relationship. Fast forward a couple of months later and we moved out of the area. My awesome husband ended up finding a FANTASTIC specialist in our new area. My new DR gave me a saline ultrasound our first visit (no other DR gave me one). Right away he say a large polyp as well as possible fibroids. He scheduled a new HSG to see how my right tube was doing. After the HSG we decided to have another surgery (6/8/2017). Once the DR was in there he saw that my old DR left a large part of my left tube! He removed the rest of the left tube, my right tube, a large polyp, multiple fibroids, and endometriosis. At my post-op visit he showed us all of the pictures (it was a mess in there!). He said my right tube was the largest hydrosalpinx tube he has ever removed (it looked like a huge sausage!). He showed us the after pictures and everything thing looked beautiful again! I'm now having my first non painful period! It's strange I instantly felt better down there after surgery (of course in pain but healthier!). Thursday will be 3 weeks since my surgery. We have some how found the funds (family help) to start IVF!! but I'm still feeling so many emotions. My DR thinks we should start IVF ASAP (in case anything grows back). My ovarian reserve dropped to 1.3 since I tested 2 years ago but my egg quality is really good. He believes we have a good chance our first cycle due to my age, egg quality, and how well everything looked after surgery... But after watching youtube videos of couple's stories I am extremely nervous! It was difficult to get the money together for this first cycle. My mind is constantly racing and my sleep is lacking. I'm taking supplements and eating well but I'm extremely worried about stressing before our first IVF cycle. We hope to start our first IVF cycle at the end of August 2017. My husband has been working a lot so we can save as much as we can. my Husband is very hopeful it will work the first time. But in all reality I know thats not always the case and it's eating away at me. I want to be happy we are starting the IVF journey but it's so hard with the stress and worry I have. I'm stuck =(
Thanks for listening and sorry for any typos.
