Hello everyone? I'm unsure of how to "internet pen pal" but I will do my best. I'm still unsure of all the lingo and acronyms used in infertility forums but I'm learning as I go...regarding forums and infertility. Last June my husband and I officially started trying after having been on the Nuva Ring for our entire relationship (9ish years). I have always had very irregular periods and was bad about remembering to take pills so the ring was perfect for me, even though my doctor tells me that most women don't stay on it that long. When I was a teen I had a doctor tell me that I had cysts in my ovaries so I already had PCOS on my radar and when nothing had happened by October...and by nothing I mean no pregnancy, no period, no sex drive, nada... I went in to see my gyno. She said it was unlikely that I had PCOS since I didn't "look like I had it". I have a fairly athletic build and no visible symptoms. She did a blood test and found that I had hypothyroidism and other issues that indicate PCOS. Then she did an "invasive ultrasound"...as I like to call it...where she saw the famous "string of pearls". She suggested Metformin but said clomid was faster so gave me a choice. I opted for Clomid because...well, I'm impatient- not a good flaw to have when you're dealing with this kind of stuff...I know. She put me on 50mgs. Nothing happened. I probably should have mentioned earlier that she also started my period with provera. When it didn't work I opted to go the the fertility doctor that my best friend used (who is also the girl that pointed me in the daily strength direction so shout out to Alexis). As soon as I met him all I could think about was that someone needs to make a documentary about this mans life! Anyways...I digress... he up'ed my clomid dosage and we did two cycles. Both times I needed provera to start my period. My husband got tested and passed with flying colors regarding sperm quality, and I also did the dye test. During that test a small cyst was discovered so my doctor recommended that I do a laparoscopy if I didn't get pregnant by January. You can guess what happened next.....I didn't get pregnant...obviously (can you tell I'm starting to feel jaded?). So in February I had the surgery and my Doctor was like "Why don't you try naturally? I think maybe this will help you ovulate. Here's some provera....hop to it." You want to guess what happened next? Nothing. I didn't get pregnant...I didn't even ovulate. So the next cycle I did 150mg of clomid and started metformin with the hope of doing the HCG trigger shot but I didn't even get a follicle big enough to merit the shot. This last cycle (which I of course started with my good buddy provera) we did femara and....I ovulated! So something finally happened in my uterus! It was an eventful month down there. I'm 12 dpo and I've had a lot of symptoms but so far two BF NOPE tests...which I don't need to tell you guys, is pretty disheartening. I will test once more tomorrow since my Ovia app is telling me I should and I haven't gotten af yet so perhaps it's premature to lose hope but keep in mind that my af is always a mystery...much like my uterus, infertility, and internet forums.
