Even though I put getting pregnant behind me and I have an adopted daughter. I am still affected by people's pregnancy news - and of course I live next to someone who loves to procreate.... my neighbor was cutting my hair and said well I guess you could tell our news....pause... we're having our FOURTH! I was like congrats - heart sinking inside - and then said how would I have known... I guess she is 2 months and looking a bit round in the middle... but I thought she was pregnant again 6 months ago and she wasn't so I thought nothing of her weight gain. My SIL will probably be announcing her 3rd pregnancy soon - they just bought a 5 bedroom house. I just would like to have one more... a sibling for my daughter. I will probably always regret that she didn't have one.. but hey those who can get pregnant don't need $25,000+ to do it... it just doesn't grown on trees.

I think that this example illustrates one of the hardest things we have to face. Whether we make the choice to move on either voluntarily or involuntarily, whether we come successful in whatever way, the pain of what we went through NEVER goes way, and it sometimes it may get easier, but the sting always seems to happen. So sorry you had to experience that. Do something special for yourself

Its sad that not only does IF control our lives when we are in the thick of things but it really does change us forever :( In some ways I feel I am more compassionate and empathetic but in others I am just a bitter bitch!
I don't think I will ever understand why some women are so blessed with the gift of fertility while others of us struggle and claw our way through this journey.

I should say I wish babies grew on trees!...CaliCutie81 - oh I get so tired and sad being a "bitter bitch!" I wish I could just be happy for the preggos.

Uggghhhh..... It must be nice to be able to pop out babies like that! And yeah, to not have to spend a fortune to do it. So sorry! You girls are so right; IF does greatly impact us forever.

Maybe you could foster to adopt in order to give your child a sibling. I know it's not for everyone, but it's much more affordable than private adoption, and you get the added bonus of giving a child a home who really needs one. :)

CaliCutie, I feel like a bitter bitch so much of the time! And I haven't written on here in a long time, but I have read a lot of your posts, and you seem much too sweet to be a bitch. :)
