Gahh I meant it came back ABNORMAL

I dId. After several miscarriages and no live births I decided to try IVF. I did research first and found an article relative to unexplained infertility which was my RE's diagnosis. Through the same doctor that wrote the article I had the test run. Sure enough the Nka results came back elevated. My RE would not treat for it. I found one that would. She choose a plan that included Intralipid infusions, Dexamethasone along with IVF and a FET. I also tested positive for Factor V Leiden from 1 parent which she treated with a blood thinner. Our baby bean is due Monday

Thanks for replying. I think I'll go down this avenue if I have one more miscarriage. At the moment I've only had one mc and I'm hoping more than anything that the next one will stick to the end. I don't know if I'm making the right decision. But I guess we'll see.

If you don't mind me asking, what brought you to do IVF?

I personally don't have experienced but my sister does. She suffered a very early miscarriage in 2010 and was able to get pregnant naturally in 2011 but lost her baby girl at 20 weeks due to incompentent cervix/infection. They tried for 2 years to get pregnant again with no luck. They started fertility treatments in 2013 and had 3 IUIs fail, 2 failed IVF and 2 failed FET. Her bloodwork for NK cells was abnormal as well. They did a fresh cycle in November and froze everything. She underwent intralipid infusions, took dexamethasone while cycling for IVF and is actually pregnant now- she will be 17 weeks Thursday and is doing really well.

ANB - I have not met any other ladies who have undergone the treatment, thanks for sharing her story. What was hard to accept was that the place that I chose that was suppose to help me had only one priority, money. I'd had seven miscarriages (two with heartbeats) when I choose the path of IVF. I did not have a discernible condition to have had them and the former clinic didn't think it necessary to treat me once I was diagnosed for a known condition. I could not have been more blessed to live where I do to have access to the doctor I found. Otherwise I believe our hope would of ended.

1willbefine - I chose to go through IVF after my doc advised it was the best course of action after what was happening with me. The short story goes, we had been trying for 6 months naturally and my health was deteriorating because I had to forego my treatment for my endometriosis to get pregnant. My endo got so bad that I couldn't function anymore and so the doc said IVF would be the best option since while on the IVF my endo symptoms will probably subside thus give me better chances for pregnancy.

ANB - Thanks for sharing your sister's story with me. I hope everything continues really well for her. I'm now rethinking what my best course of action should be. I don't want to ignore my abnormal results but I'm scared to go through the treatment. Do you know if there were a lot of side effects with what she had to go through and if she got pregnant after the first NKC treatment? I guess if she got pregnant the side effects will be all worth it.

She had no side effects that I know of. The treatment, she said, was fairly easy. You pretty much get a solution through an IV. Her one treatment she actually was able to leave the clinic, and went to work with the port in, and was able to take it out herself. Her first round of the infusion did not work but it did work with this last cycle. I will warn you, her insurance did not cover the treatment and it's not cheap.
