has anyone ever heard of this? At first glance it appears to be a little more in depth than charting and tracking changes in your cycle but then as I researched it more it seemed more like the Catholic approved method of family planning as opposed to working with an RE. I am not sure what to make of it...

I used to live in Italy where laws about IVF are VERY constrained because of the vatican's views and political power in the country.
My husband is a catholic and we married in his church so we had to go on a "catholic engagement encounter weekend retreat" to get the paper prooving attendance before we were permitted to marry in his Church.
One of the things that they went on and on about at length were natural birth control and all these timed, charted, pull-out, vaginal-mucus, time of the month techniques.
Well, I for one am not that naieve. Different women ovulate at different times, we don't all ovulate on day 21 of a 28 day period.
So anything charted to work off this primative view of how women's body's all work the same, for me, is not work investing in.
Having said that I think reading about these things helps us understand a few of the basic things that need to come together to achieve pregnancy.
