Hello everyone this is my story.
My husband and I have been TTC for four and a half years now. It had destroyed me. About a year ago I finally went in for surgery and had a Laparoscopy and an HSG. I was diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes and my doctor told me my only option was IVF. They told me this over the phone and told me there was nothing else they cold do for me. This broke my heart for so many reasons, the money, the hormones they put you on, and many other reasons. I knew there had to be something else I could do. I tried the herbal tampons. Waste of money. I felt alone and hopeless.
Then one day about six months ago, I broke down and told my mom everything that was happening. She had no clue I was trying to conceive or that i had went through surgery. She pushed me into seeing a NaPro doctor. NaPro works to discover the underling cause of infertility and to truly diagnose what the problem is. It uses the Creighton Model of charting your cycles. I was not very optimistic due to research I have done. I read that once both tubes are blocked IVF was my only option.
My first meeting with my doctor I was so scared, I started crying like a baby when the doctor walked into the room. I was expecting him to say that I was screwed, that there was nothing he could do for me. He was very understanding and supportive as was his nurse. He calmed me down and we talked about my options. I was scheduled for another Laparoscopy and other things while I was under.
The day of my surgery. I was optimistic and pessimistic at the same time I hoped and prayed that the surgery would work. Yet i did not want to get my hopes up just to get them crushed again. When I woke up from surgery my husband told me the surgery was a success. Best case scenario happened my TUBES ARE OPEN!!! Both of my tubes are open. I cried so hard I was so happy and in such awe that the surgery was successful. He did some other things while I was under also. I had mild endo that he removed and one of my ovaries was stuck in a funny position because of fibroids so he fixed that as well.
I just had my follow up and I am so optimistic now. I have hope and I have my smile back. The last four years of trying meant nothing. My tubes where blocked so there was no chance of me conceiving. Now with my tubes open it is like I'm just TTC again for the first time and I am so excited.

So for anyone that was told that IVF was there only answer. You do not have to believe them. Take my word for it there are other options available.

I should add that in my late 20s, I went through IVF. It was emotionally devastating for me as it failed. Looking back, I see now that I was not at all ready to try that method, I was just feeling desperate to do whatever it took to conceive.
I just turned 36 years old 2 weeks ago. I would be happy to share stories with you and encouragement, as you can imagine I am at the point where I am about to surrender hope that I will ever be successful. I read stories like yours though and they do make me believe and hope and pray that it can still happen for me too!

I have been TTC for over 2 years now and started with IVF treatment as well. I feel that that is what society draws you to when you realize you are having trouble conceiving. I had 2 failed cycles and was told to seek an egg donor or adoption. My diagnosis was DOR, high FSH, and a blocked tube.
I honestly heard of NaPro in my church bulletin believe it or not! I met with a practitioner and set up an appt with my now doctor, Dr. Nolte. She prescribed me estradiol and the Vivelle estrogen patch to try to regulate my hormones and she put me in touch with a surgeon to clear my tube (which btw was done laparoscopically, and I was originally told by my IVF doc I would need open surgery!) PS as of today my levels have been normal; I get blood drawn 2x week as part of my protocol, but let me tell you it is worth it. I now have a 75% chance of conceiving as opposed to less than 30%! It's now a matter of God and time.
I also feel that I don't judge anyone seeking IUI, IVF, etc., HOWEVER I do worry about women who are put in a position like me where they are given no hope and I pray that all those facing infertility find fulfillment in their lives one way or another. I would love to see NaPro supporters take more action and promote this process so that it is just as well known as IVF. Has anyone ever seen a story about NaPro covered on Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, etc.?? I often think of promoting awareness of this faith and values based treatment. Your thoughts?? I don't mean to sound like a crazed NaPro fan, but I truly believe in its mission and do not think enough women know about it.
