My sister is pregnant

I am in dire need of some support. My sister just recently got divorced, she’s got a 4 year old daughter and started dating a guy about a year ago, while she was in the process of getting divorced. She just texted me last night (while I was out with some friends) that she is 13 weeks pregnant. I swear I felt my heart stop and I couldn’t breathe. I get why she texted because she knows I wouldn’t want to break down in front of her but she should have just had our mom tell me. She’s got an illness and it got worse after she had her first child so I am not sure how she is going to do after having another one. I am living in my own personal nightmare right now. I don’t want people talking to me about her pregnancy or asking me questions. I’m so dreading getting the first “when is it going to be your turn”. I am happy for her but I have never been so heart broken. I really need some support right now. I have my husband who is amazing and my family but I need some women who understand what I’m going through.

Oh I am so sorry. It’s so hard and so painful to have someone else experience the thing you’re working and trying so hard for. I wish I had some magical words of wisdom to heal your pain. Just be graceful with yourself, give yourself time and space from her if you need.

sunshine514112 - My heart just sunk for you reading this. you have every right to feel how you feel, and every right to deal with this news how you need to. It's ok to {as kindly as possible} put people in their place when they say things to you. I've never felt so much relief when a group of friends were talking about being pregnant/getting pregnant and a girl who I didn't know well blurted out "it's not that easy for everyone" and I just was like hell yeah, thank you. I have no better words but to say it hurts every part of your being when someone close to you is expecting while you are struggling so hard. Just know you have support here and know that you need to feel this to feel better. Big hug to you.

Sunshine, I'm sorry you are going through that. All of us here experience the same thing and people just don't know how hurtful little comments can be.
My SIS is pregnant with her 3rd child, this will be number 14 for the number of nieces and nephews we have...14!!!! My husband has 3 sisters and all 14 are from his sisters, he is also a great uncle. Last night was the gender reveal that was planed last minute and I was not able to attend. I really wanted to go but I needed more than a 45 min notice. I know they all thought that it would be too difficult for me to go, and although I wish it was me, I am happy for her. Later, I called her to say congrats and apologized for not showing up. She understood and all she kept saying is YOUR NEXT!!!

We have been trying for over 2 years and I am 40 now. Although my husband and I are perfectly healthy, age is a factor. I feel so sad all the time. I hide my feelings, even from my husband. I smile, congrats everyone on their many babies and move on. Even where I work, there are only 4 employees, including me and I am the only woman. The 3 men I work with...all of their wives are pregnant. You can only imagine the comments these men make to me, they just don't think. But anyway, this stuff is hard and some how I know we will get through it. I wish everyone here lots of baby dust!!!!
