Ok so today has kinda sucked. I had something called sclerotherepy to make the hole out of my stomach a little smaller (i will have to have this 1 more time to complete the process) my dr failed to mention the part about going back to post gastric bypass meal plan (with a few exceptions). so after waking up from the sleepy meds in a catastrophic amount of pain i find out that i am on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks (i can have sugar free pudding and lowfat yogurt, ie the exception) which means on thanksgiving day i will be having chicken broth for my dinner. and for dessert my mom is going to make me homemade sugarfree pumpkin pudding. dh's family is coming over the day after thanksgiving where i will again have broth while everyone else is having chili, then on dec 5th my parents and dh and i and the in-laws get together for a fancy dinner at my parents house....i will at least be moved up to soft foods. but if it helps me lose all the weight again it will be all worth it. ok so that is my rant on that. the good thing about all this is the 3 doses of morphine in the hospital....that was nice. so i am going to have my broth and then sleep some more. sticky baby dust to all those waiting.

Well sister.. I am right there with you. I am not able to eat the turkey or stuffin either. I became vegetarian in Sept. :-) I know you are having to do all liquid though. but you can do it! :-) I will be praying for you to have the strength to get through it!!! XOXOXO

Wow, what horrible timing! The holidays are the hardest time to have to resist yummy food. Like you said, it will all be worth it though. Wishing you well and praying for lots of willpower for you!

I have a gluten intolerance (wheat, rye, barley, oats) & you would be surprised how everything seems to have wheat so I totally understand what it is like to not eat things you want esp on holidays. I can do without the stuffing but the pumpkin pie is my thing...my mom is making it without a crust. I am a turkey fanatic so I can't even begin to say how upsetting that would be for me. I hope this works for you & you have ALL your dreams come true in 2009!

I had to do liquids once. Maybe your DH can make you Jello with Ginger Ale. That way your thanksgiving could have a little 'sparkle' too! :-)

poo, how about some clear turkey broth????

i'll have chicken broth....so that'll be fine. it's really the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce i will miss more than anything. but it'll help that my mom is going to make sugar free pumpkin pudding so i can feel like i am having my pumpkin pie still....i've been here before, but not with thanksgiving. i'll live....

I've been on similar diets due to illness and surgeries. Not fun at all! I hope the end result is worth it though (and I am sure it will be!) Good luck :-)
