I too am praying for all the ladies on here to have a happy Mothers day at some point of thier journey. When I start feeling sad I just remember how sad my DH is because his mother passed away 5 years ago, it puts my sorrow into perspective. I will someday soon have a joy filled mothers day but he will always be sad because his mom is gone.

I feel the same way. I was thinking back today to last year at this time. I remember when my family went to dinner last year during this time I thought that would be my last childless Mother's Day. Good luck to all of my DS sisters. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sad day indeed. It is amazing how strong childless moms to be are in comparison to those with children are on this day. Big hugs to all those who need them. You do not cry alone on this day.

im even trying not to cry because i can already hear what they are going to say... dont worry, relax your turn will come... im sorry but for me mothers day still sucks!!!

Yes, today is just one of those days I'd much prefer to hide in a hole and pretend I don't exist. It's bad enough you get motherhood rubbed your face every day from friends who are pregnant (I know like 8 pregnant people right now! GRR!)

I had two people wish me a Happy Mother's day over the coarse of the weekend , and one was my mother-in-law !!! She made a mistake , and included me in her friend list to send a Happy Mother's day comment. Uugghh !

I have HATED this day for years. I am also praying that next year will be more joyous. Only time will tell. Hang in there Ladies. We will get through this together.

Today was extra tough for me because I spent the last 2 weeks thinking we had finally done it and I had my prayers answered, to be pregnant by Mother's Day. But I've taken 4 tests all negative. So whatever those symptoms were beats me! But we took my mother-n-law to lunch at Outback. That actually went ok. We spent much of the time talking about my infertility. But then the waitress by the door was handing out flowers to all the "moms" as they walked out, she gave me one and I took it. All I could think was "whatever" and "I'm an imposter". The flower felt like salt in a wound. But then just now after coming home, I'm looking at Facebook and seeing all the posts wishing all the mom's Happy MD. I just felt like I'm not a member of the exclusive club. The left out looser. I try to stay hopeful, positive and all that bs. But today I'm just wallering in self-pity. And, my mom is 1800 miles away having MD with my sister and brother. To be honest it's testing my faith in God. I do believe in being patient and waiting on Him. But at the same time, this feels like a cruel joke.
Sorry for this long post but I'm venting.

I'm understanding everyone's posts. It's definitely an awkward day, no doubt. Nobody really knows what to say or do when you come around on this day.
But, let's take the stigma off of this day and expand the definition so we can all enjoy this day. In ways, as females, we are ALL mothers. Whether we're taking care of our little ones, our husbands, brothers, sisters, furr babies, friends, step-kids, grandparents, etc. We're ALL mothers! Let's celebrate that larger definition and try to make the best of it. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm not saying this makes those other feelings, thoughts, and wishes in our head go away. It just helps not make it so bad.
Hang in there to those that are really having a bad day. Give yourself a BIG HUG and know that you're doing the best for you during this time. So, really, you're your own mom and bless you for taking care of yourself so well.
