Okay Ladies, I have one question for you guys... My husband and I are getting ready to start the whole IUI process and I want to be supper agressive with the medication, since my husband and I only have 8 shots at this (we are using donor sperm). I know that there is a difference in medicaton prices (insurance/no insurace..etc) but can some of you just throw out a number on what you have spent in medication for a month...if you have tried it with IUI's...

Please throw in hope for us if you had gotten pregnant with and IUI...Its nice to hear positive stories...it gives us hope that we have a chance..

Hey Kristie....for both of my IUIs, my doctor was really aggressive. In my last cycle we spent about $1700 on medication. We have Kaiser so they paid 50% and we paid the other 50%. I wish I could say we got pregnant on IUI. We have one more IUI and then plan to move on to IVF in May.

I did chlomid and that is very inexpensive with IUI. It was around $40.00. The Ovidryl was around $100.00/
I them moved to stims (Gonal-F) and that was around $1700.00 month for meds only.
I had 3 and they were all unsuccessful. I am haveing my ER tomorrow and am on my first IVF cycle.
Good Luck with the IUI! It does work for alot of people.

Monikat...do you mind if I ask if the $1700 was before or after your 50% coverage...your portion?

That was after the 50%.

I just started my cycle and went and bought my meds for the week. So far I spent $900 out of pocket on this cycle. I'll let you know exactly how much once I have my IUI.
