I'm due to start my first IVF cycle next and for the past 3 days I find myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it.
Thoughts that wander in and out of my head:
How am I going to juggle work with the bloodwork, ultrasounds and then retrieval and transfer days.
What do I tell my boss "I may need this day off, but maybe not?"
How is my husband is going to get off on the 2 days he will be needed.
What happens if it lands of 4th of July, will the speed me up or delay me a day if they don't work. How will that affect the follicles.
Really stressed about being put on anesthesia, for some reason this really freaks me out. (Haven't had anesthesia since my wisdom teeth were taken out.)
How do I try to control the hormone rollercoaster at work. I work with some very trying males who on a good day its hard to deal with them.
What will people think when my arms are bruised from days of bloodwork?
What happens if it doesn't work and I am paying off my credit card every month without a baby? Will this be another monthly reminder of what I am missing?
What happens if I get pregnant and miscarry?
Is it selfish of me to want to plan a vacation for my husbands birthday in september knowing that if i'm pregnant its during the first 12 week period?
My family wants me to go to an amusement park the end of July, how do I decline without ruining the trip for everyone. (It's a yearly family trip, everyone goes or no one goes, and everyone but me is good for the end of July)
I try to listen to stress relief music while I sleep, problem is when I wake up my mind starts wandering. I considered accupuncture but read that it only helps if you start months beforehand. Going to the gym to walk on the treadmill helps but I can't work out hard enough that i knocks me out all night. I read that the less stress the better, this has only increased my stress by trying to de-stress.
Did anyone else have this anxiety before starting IVF?
Will it go away when I start?

I am trying to think of more positive problems that will occur when we have our baby. For example, I am currently using the room which will be the nursery as my dressing room and wondering where all my clothes will go when the baby arrives and how DH will do painting.
I got my calendar today, I am very excited. My baseline is on 6/18 with retrieval the week of 7/2. I did my mock transfer today and will say that was not fun. I drank way too much water so it felt like an eternity for it to be over. Thanks again for the words of encouragement!
