I am struggling here. Trying to keep-faith and be strong but month after month it is so hard. Urologist believes that the low sperm count is related to genetics but not enough studies are around to prove this to be the case. We have been pregnant a total of 3 times. 2 naturally (our first was a miscarried @ 10 weeks after hearing the heart beat on two occasions, the other was a chemical pregnancy where my HCG beta did not rise and misscarried a few weeks later.) The last one was the result of a clinical trial IVF study, fresh transfer and that turned out to be also a chemical pregnancy and I miscarried at 5 weeks.

Hubby is now being difficult and not wanting to take vitamins and cooperate. It’s so frustrating to me because I am doing everything to make this happen and he’s being difficult. States he absolutely wants a baby but seems to think it will happen with his 800,000 sperm count. I know it seems like a lot but most men have more like 40 million.

Is anyone else like me and frustrated with their spouse? I could really use a friend right about now.

I completely understand! It has been a lllloooonnnngggg wait for my husband to finally get on board with IVF. We were originally told 7 years ago that IVF was our only option to have children of our own. My husband agreed to save money and get our ducks in a row to begin treatments. I finally cornered him about 5 months ago and told him to poop or get off of the pot. There was a lot of emotional baggage my husband had to work through, which I completely understand. The frustration came from him telling me he wanted children, but then he would never fully commit to setting up appointments at the clinic. It took a lot of reassurance from my end that, yes I wanted children, but not having children with him was not a deal breaker. I think that once he realized I loved him whether he gave me children or not, provided him with a sense of security in our relationship. On that note....I'm gonna honestly add in the fact that it took me 6 1/2 years to realize what would help him with that reassurance. I believe I was just as dense as him ;-). Sending up positive vibes that your husband begins to see where you are coming from and that the frustration comes to an end! You have come to the right place for reassurance!

Hi, I am sorry to know yr story. In case of genetic issues, and also cos of yr mcs I would recommend considering IVF with PGS NGS. xx

I'm having problems too, my husbands tests came back very low. When I try to get him to take his vitamins he rolls his eyes. He won't go to the urologist for a ultrasound which was recommended by my doctor. So now we both have fertility issues and it seems like it gets worse every test we take.

Thank you for that.
All I can recommend it to keep sharing and being open with your spouse. Maybe over time he will see and begin to understand. I think infertility can really mess with a mans ego.

I’m sorry to hear that you are in the same boat. Tears flood down my face in sadness for all that we have to go through.
However, it seems like all my friends are ending up with twins. So while I can’t even have one kid others have a surplus. It’s a twisted feeling.
