This is my first time on a support group. I just feel like I need some support from people who are going through The same things I am. Me and my husband have been ttc for almost three years now. We’ve both done the tests (his way easier than mine) and they say everything is fine. I know I have more options such as Clomid and other things but, gosh, it’s not supposed to be this hard is it? I never imagined it would be this hard to get pregnant. I’ve done the ovulation tests and that didn’t help either. I think the absolute worst part for me is that when my husband sperm goes inside me it causes a horrible burning sensation. The doctor said that doesnt have anything to do with our infertility issues but it sure does make it more painful to try. I just want to get that + sign on a stick, is that so much to ask for?

Hi sunshine. I have just joined to reply to you as I’m feeling exactly the same. I feel so low right now like how hard is this? It seems so unfair right!? Let’s just keep our head up and keep positive, fingers crossed for you xx

Thank you! Yes it is so unfair. I try not to dwell on it but sometimes I just have to say it. It’s definitely a struggle but yes we have to keep our heads up! Fingers crossed for you as well! You are not alone!

We had a similar experience. We were trying to conceive for five years, starting off just by removing barriers (contraceptive), and then causally tracking, which eventually led us to a fertility clinic for testing. You're so right, it usually far less invasive for male testing! Now after several tests came by showing nothing wrong at the first clinic (I feel like there was some time wasted there), I was shocked when we changed clinics and the dr. tested his sperm in more depth - for dna fragmentation. That's the first time something came up concerning. I was sad and concerned, but also oddly relieved we finally found out something bc we weren't successful conceiving and it gave us a focus for change. Luckily through some sight changes in diet and nutrition and lifestyle (alcohol) my partner was able to improve his sperm. This was a huge relief as if these strategies didn't work we were told his sperm would never likely fertilize an egg which would have left us with no options (not even IUI or IVF). So again after tracking and not conceiving the dr just kept saying to keep trying before we would then look at IUI and IVF. I was approaching 35 at this point so was feeling pressure, was tired of the monthly wave of hope/let down, and was losing hope to be honest. Dr. thought it was worth it to put me on Femera (he prefers this med over Clomid) and I was honestly not overly optimistic bc no issues were with my ovulation or egg reserve, but I thought what the heck. I haven't posted on this site since, but feel inclined to bc your story is similar to mine...we were successful on round two and are now pregnant! I hope you don't mind me writing this bc I know how hard it is to hear someone else is pregnant when you're struggling with conceiving, but I want to give you a ray of hope that it's definitely worth a shot with Clomid. The medication was combined with regular ultrasounds to track my ovulation so that we could maximize the chances. Best of luck to you!
