Lack of Motivation since loss of tube

Every month for the past 4 years I have done something to ttc. Whether it be Femera, Follistim, IUIs or just simply using my fertility monitor. After my last pregnancy was an ectopic and I lost my left tube I don't feel motivated. I feel like it's almost pointless to use my fertility monitor because even if I am ovulating, if it's on the left side I have no chance. I hate not doing anything to ttc but it just seems so pointless now that my situation has changed. Anyone else ever lack motivation even though having a baby is something you want more than anything?

You can definitely get pregnant even if you ovulate on the wrong side --> the openings to the fallopian tubes are actually very close together, so if one tube is gone, the other tube can actually catch eggs from either ovary. So don't lose hope!

But I think it makes sense that you're mourning the loss of the tube. Whenever any of us has gotten a hard diagnosis that makes our chances less, it hits really hard. It's okay to be sad and angry and pissed off. And it takes a few months to get over the shock of a diagnosis. But just know that it's not hopeless.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I also had an ectopic pregnancy on March 2nd. I had already ruptured and needed emergency surgery. I credit my OB with saving my life. I actually have been more motivated than ever. I really want my daughter to have a sibling. Someone to play with. I can completely understand why you would have a lack of motivation though. It can be defeating. For the whole month of March (this actually happened 9 days before my birthday) I was bummin' big time. I just had to grieve in my own way. Maybe you are still grieving what could have been. When the time is right for you, you will find what drives you to have a baby. I wish you nothing but luck and a safe, happy healthy trip to motherhood.

I have only had one tube to work with for the last 4 years. I am about to have surgery in 2 weeks to remove my last remaining tube as it has closed off. I fell very little motivation for much of anything since I have to give up that little hope of a surprise pregnancy on my own.
