Ladies,
Some of you know this already but I want to write this testament to the miracle that my God has performed already for me. I am a believer in the power of Christ but I am full of respect and mindfulness of other faiths. For me though, JC seems to be revealing himself to me in more and more profound ways.
I had my egg retrieval last saturday. All the signs pointed to my eggs being mature- perfect labs, US etc
I had 9 follicles and all 9 had eggs.
Yet, only 4 were mature and the other 5 were borderline immature.
My embryologist said that what had happened was beyond unusual-it just didnt make sense with my labs and consistent follicle size.
All appeard to be lost as of the 4 mature 2 did not surve the ICSI and the other two failed to fertilize. The lab technician basically told me that I probably would not have anything to transfer and that they would try some things but doubtful that the embryos if they even fertilized would be of good quality.
I got off the phone in shock and then I reached out to my mother who sat down with her husband and they prayed with all their might. I called my best friend who was across the country and we prayed with every fiber of our being for a miracle. I spoke to my husband and he said "We are not losing faith, Im not giving up"
Then the phone rang, it was the embryologist. He said that in the last ten minutes when he went to check on the immature batch that one had "popped" Thats as we were praying!
he re-injected the two who had not fertilized and said he would call me the next day.
I, and all those I who love me and you ladies kept the faith. We prayed and prayed. I drove by my clinic and sat outside and envsioned my Lord JC inside the lab with all of my loved ones on the other side, my dog included! breathing life into my babies. I called the feminine face of God, the female force of nature to come in to the room as well. We went to Mass and I took the Eucharist more fervently then I could have imagined. My husband and I did not stop our prayers.
The next day, word came- 3 had fertilized! One from the immature batch (who popped during prayer) and the other two from the mature batch who had been re-injected. One was 6 cell (Michael) one was 3 cell (Sofia) and one was "being stubborn" but still was growing. I named him Gabriel.
I kept praying, and on the advice of our DS sister SueQ i never stopped visualizing them growing. I put on soft music and really relaxed into the visualization. I then went back to the clinic and prayed outside.
ET day comes- Micheal, from the immature batch was 9 cell, grade 4.6!
Sofia was 5 cell- also grade 4.6
Gabriel(sleepy!) had grown to 3 cell and was also grade 4 quality.
I looked at them through the microscope and sent them my love and my husband and I prayed before the ET for the Lord to work through our Doctor's hands and place our children safely in my body.
I have named them to invoke celestial protection for each one.
I have kept the vision of the woman who was healed by her Faith alone. I could not have done this without my loved ones and without all of you here on DS
Now, the road is just begining and I will keep praying and visualizing everyday for my children to survive but a wise woman told me that we must pray, expect our miracle but then surrender the result to the Divine.
I dont have a BFP yet ladies, no test till the 11th but I believe that we must acknowledge each miracle as it occurs and marvel at God's power each step of the way. How amazing that we live in a time that we even have these options- as difficult and financially taxing that they may be. How amazing that we have a site like this so that we can share our feelings and not be isolated as women who have gone through this have suffered ALONE for thousands of years! Please know that I am not seeking to minimize all of the pain and frustration that we all go thru but only to share my own flicker of hope and light in the darkness.
Please also know that I write this with so much love for all of you and that I respect everyone's faiths and beliefs equally. I just needed to proclaim my gratitude to my God and hopefully share some inspiration to you all.
Wishing you all miracles, love and babydust!!!
