My mother in law, she just really doesn't get it!
Yesterday she comes over for dinner and almost as soon as we sit down to eat she starts on with "I know you probably don't want to hear about Lara" (my Dh's very pregnant cousin) so I just kind of fidget a little uncomfortably but say nothing else and she goes on... well I saw her the other day and well you know she is almost due and anyway, she was telling me how she misses you both so much (this is the woman who started giggling when she saw me a few days after I lost my baby and she found out she was pregnant...) and oh its such a pity you haven't seen her and blah blah blah blah.
I wanted to yell at her and tell her to SHUT THE HELL UP! I don't care how Lara is feeling, I don't care that she "misses us" (more like wants to rub it in our face) and no I don't want to see her!
why oh why won't she just let me be! why is it that EVERY TIME I speak to her she has to bring BLOODY LARA UP!

Last time I told my MIL that I don't wanna talk about her 18year old future daughter-in-law who's knocked up, she tells me " STOP BEING BITTER" WOW !!! You're so sensitive and caring (*sarcasm*)... oh, gotta love those MIL! And this my friends, is WHY I DO NOT talk to her about any pregnancy/ baby stuff ...
And I'm sorry you went through that. I know how you feel. I just now change to subject or don't bring it up anymore. Not worth my breath or time. They are stuck in their ways and will NEVER change... so why bother?
So we don't tell her much anymore because she always finds ome way to make any situation all about her and she also gossips about our situation. Now she gets mad because we are not "keeping her in the loop of things". I wish I could keep her informed but I can't. Good luck.
My MIL has no idea what we are going through. I don't think she would understand although I think my FIL would get it. Their daughter (my Sister in Law) got pregnant with both of her kids through IUI so I think they sort of understand and are sensitive....but I am still not planning on telling them.
Hang in there...your time is coming! I just know it!
